The stage was set, the lights were bright, and at the trailer launch of Aamir Khan: Cinema Ka Jadugar in Mumbai, our Mr. Perfectionist spilled some sugary beans. When asked about any regrets over films he let slip through his fingers, Aamir candidly shared, "Darr jo mein kar raha tha, phir meine nahi kiya⊠Aur aaj bhi lagta hai, sahi hua. Shah Rukh ne woh sur zyada achhe se pakda!" Basically, Aamir felt that the intensity Yash Chopra was aiming for was a glove-fit for SRK. Imagine, if Aamir had taken on Darr, it might have been a different kahani altogether! đ€
Someone from the crowd piped up with a reminderâBajrangi Bhaijaan! "Haan bhai, woh bhi suna tha," Aamir chuckled. He admitted that the script seemed tailor-made for Salman. "Script sunte hi bola, yeh Salman ko suit karega," he added. And the rest, as they say, is history. Kabir Khan took the script to Salman, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan became the blockbuster we all know and love.
