Abhishek Bachchan shines in this emotional rollercoaster, “Be Happy” – a movie as sweet as a desi mithai!

Arre bhai, Bollywood ki duniya mein kuch bhi ho sakta hai! Kabhi kabhi, a film comes along that makes you feel like you’ve just been hit by an emotional bulldozer. And that’s exactly what ‘Be Happy’ is all about. Imagine sitting in your comfy seat, popcorn in hand, and suddenly you’re drowning in your own tears. Kya scene hai, bhai! 🥲

Abhishek Bachchan, the man who’s got the talent to turn your waterworks on like a leaky faucet, delivers a performance in ‘Be Happy’ that’ll make you cry like a baby who dropped their ice cream. While Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt are known for their on-screen emotional breakdowns, Abhishek is proving he’s no less. This film, directed by none other than Remo D’Souza, relies heavily on his thespian skills.

Picture this: Dhara (played by the adorable Inayat Verma), a pre-teen with big dreams of winning a dance reality show, is at the heart of the story. Her dad Shiv, portrayed by Abhishek, is your average middle-class bank employee juggling life with his father (the ever-charming Nassar) and his daughter. Enter Maggie (Nora Fatehi), Dhara’s dance idol, who suggests moving to Mumbai to pursue her dreams. But Shiv is like, "Na baba na!" How he eventually warms up to the idea is what keeps you glued to your seat. And, of course, there’s a health crisis thrown in because, why not? It’s Bollywood, after all!

The soul of the movie is the father-daughter duo. Abhishek and Inayat’s chemistry is so real, you’ll feel like a fly on the wall in their living room. Shiv’s character is brought to life with such depth by Abhishek, you’ll find yourself nodding along with his struggles. But let’s not forget Nora’s character, Maggie, who’s sweet enough to give you diabetes. Matlab thoda kam karo, yaar!

With its simple, family-friendly narrative, ‘Be Happy’ aims straight for your dil. The irony of the title isn’t lost—it’s a full-on tearjerker. But hey, that’s what makes it fun to watch. With predictable twists and turns, it’s the actors who have to bring their A-game to elevate the film. And boy, do they deliver! Abhishek, with his years of experience, is like a maestro playing his finest symphony. And little Inayat? She’s wise beyond her years, even when the script goes a bit overboard.

And the music by Harsh Upadhyay? Well, it’s like the cherry on top of this sweet, emotional sundae.

Remo’s film sticks to a tried-and-true formula, but that’s what we love, na? Released directly to OTT, this movie escapes the dreaded box office expectations and lets viewers discover it at their own pace. Despite its shortcomings, ‘Be Happy’ will have you leaving with a smile plastered on your face.

Kiran’s Gyan: In Bollywood, if you ain’t crying, you ain’t trying! Remember, a good cry is like a detox for the soul. So, grab those tissues and let the emotional rollercoaster begin! 🎢
