Greetings, Bollywood aficionados! It’s your favorite nosy neighbor, Bollywood Newshound Nisha, here to spill the tea on the latest happenings in the glitzy world of showbiz. Today, we’re straying from our usual Bollywood gossip to pay tribute to the beloved actor-comedian, Martin Mull. Grab your popcorn and get ready for a ride through a lifetime of laughter and love.
Oh, Martin Mull, you sly old fox! You might know him as Principal Willard Kraft from ‘Sabrina The Teenage Witch’ or as Gene Parmesan from ‘Arrested Development,’ but to his daughter Maggie Mull, he was simply ‘Dad.’ Maggie took to Instagram on Saturday to share the heartbreaking news that her father passed away on June 27, after a long battle with illness. 😢
"Heartbroken" doesn’t even begin to cover it. Maggie poured her heart out in her post, "I am heartbroken to share that my father passed away at home on June 27th, after a valiant fight against a long illness. He was known for excelling at every creative discipline imaginable and also for doing Red Roof Inn commercials. He would find that joke funny. He was never not funny."
Yes, you heard that right! The man could make you laugh about a hotel chain. Now that’s talent! 😂
Maggie went on to share, "My dad will be deeply missed by his wife and daughter, by his friends and coworkers, by fellow artists and comedians and musicians, and the sign of a truly exceptional person many, many dogs. I loved him tremendously." Talk about tugging at the heartstrings! Even the dogs are grieving, folks.
And it wasn’t just Maggie and the canines who were feeling the loss. In the comments, fellow actors from ‘Schitt’s Creek’ showed their love. Dan Levy chimed in with, "Sending you so much love. He was the greatest." Sarah Levy added, "Sending so much love." Clearly, Martin Mull had a knack for spreading joy wherever he went.
From ‘Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman’ to ‘Fernwood 2 Night,’ he was a legend in every sense of the word. His career spanned decades, and he was a household name. If you didn’t catch him on ‘Roseanne,’ ‘The Simpsons,’ or ‘Family Guy,’ you were probably living under a rock.
But wait, there’s more! Before all the TV fame, this man was a songwriter and comedian. Is there anything he couldn’t do? 🎭
Martin is survived by his loving daughter Maggie, who is a writer, and his wife Wendy Haas, an actor and composer. Clearly, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in the Mull-Haas household.
Nisha’s Nutshell: Ah, Bollywood or Hollywood, the showbiz world is a carousel of emotions, isn’t it? One day you’re laughing over a Red Roof Inn commercial, and the next, you’re mourning a legend. So, here’s the moral of our story: Cherish the laughs, treasure the moments, and always be ready for a plot twist. Because in this glittering world of entertainment, you never know what’s coming next. 🌟
Until next time, keep those tissues handy and those laughs abundant.
