Oh ho ho! Bollywood ka asli drama ab shuru hota hai! Guess what? Ajay Devgn, our very own Singham, who played Krishna in "Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha," has pocketed a jaw-dropping amount. Arey, dil thaam ke baitho! This man has gobbled up a whopping 83% of the entire 30 crore salary budget! Yes, you read that right.
Meanwhile, Tabu, who portrays Krishnaâs love interest, Vasudha, got way less. And when I say less, I mean, bahut zyada less! Ajayâs paycheck is 733% higher than Tabuâs. Talk about asli inequality! đ
Tabu, being the bindass diva she is, didnât keep quiet. "Why donât you ask the male actor why you are getting paid more?" she retorted. Wah bhai wah, Tabu! You go, girl! Maybe this question will make people think (finally) about the glaring pay gap in Bollywood.
For those who are keeping count, Ajay charged 30 crores for the sports biopic "Maidaan," but took a slight pay cut for Neeraj Pandeyâs emotional drama. Still, his 25 crore fee is no joke. Meanwhile, Tabu got a humble 3 crore. You do the mathâAjayâs fee is 8.3 times higher than that of his on-screen pyaari.
Mahesh Manjrekarâs daughter, Saiee, and TV heartthrob Shantanu Maheshwari also feature as younger versions of the lead pair. But even here, paisa bolta hai! Saiee was paid 55 lakh while poor Shantanu only got 35 lakh. Yeh toh na-insafi hai!
Last but not least, the ever-charming Jimmy Sheirgill, who plays Tabuâs husband, took home 1 crore for his supporting role. Not bad, Jimmy boy, not bad!
"Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha" hit theaters on August 2 but, unfortunately, itâs not exactly setting the box office on fire. The filmâs clashing with Janhvi Kapoorâs spy-thriller "Ulajh" didnât help either.
