So, Akshay Kumar’s latest flick "Khel Khel Mein" is struggling to find its footing at the box office. Matlab yaar, it seems like the audience is in no mood for his comedy-drama. Instead, they’re all about the horror-comedy "Stree 2." That’s right, baba! The janta has spoken. 😅
Released on August 15, our strategic Akki thought he’d cash in on the Independence Day weekend. But alas! It was like throwing a party when everyone’s already RSVP’d to someone else’s bash. Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and gang totally stole the show with "Stree 2." Maybe if "Khel Khel Mein" had released solo, it might have fared better. Ab kya karein, timing is everything, na?
In its first week, "Khel Khel Mein" barely managed to scrape together 20 crores in India. Overseas, it didn’t fare much better, earning only around 7 crores. Just imagine, worldwide total stands at 30.6 crores. That’s like peanuts for a star filled film! Wah bhai wah! 😬
Directed by Mudassar Aziz—yep, the same guy who brought us "Dulha Mil Gaya" and "Happy Bhag Jayegi"—this movie had a promising cast: Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal. But even with this dream team, the film couldn’t hold its ground.
The plot revolves around a group of friends at a wedding who decide to play a game involving their phones. Reading incoming messages and notifications aloud? Drama ensues as secrets come flying out. Sounds juicy, right? But somehow, janta wasn’t buying it. Timing and competition, folks, timing and competition! 😅
Remember, these box office numbers are estimates, so don’t go all bhaukaal on me if they change a bit.
Kiran’s Gyan: In Bollywood, bhai, timing is as crucial as masala in a biryani. Release the right film at the wrong time, and you’ll end up with a flop faster than you can say "paisa vasool!" 😜
