So, Amar Kaushik, our ace director of the supernatural comedy Stree 2, had some interesting insights to share about the CBFC (Central Board of Film Classification) cutting a joke on Neha Kakkar from the film. Now, before you start thinking, "Kya yaar, why mess with our comedy?" let me spill the beans on what actually went down.
Neha Kakkar Joke Ko Bye-Bye!
Picture this: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 is smashing it at the box office. The film’s got it all—bhoot, VFX, dhinchak music, and laughs. But, ek problem ho gayi. There was a joke in the second half about Neha Kakkar getting emotional on reality shows. The CBFC, in its infinite wisdom, decided to change Neha to Sneha. Kyun? Because sentiments, folks. Amar Kaushik, in a recent chat, said, "CBFC members pointed out ki aise jokes se bura lag sakta hai." And honestly, he agreed! "Logon toh samaj mein aa gaya," he added. Apart from Rajkummar and Shraddha, Stree 2 also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana, and the ever-hilarious Pankaj Tripathi. And guess what? Special appearances by Tamannaah Bhatia and Varun Dhawan. Akshay Kumar even has an extended cameo! Talk about star power. The film hit the screens on August 15 and has been ruling since.
