Amitabh Bachchan & Prabhas’ Footsie Fiasco at Kalki 2898 – AD Event!

Oh, the things that happen when Bollywood royalty congregate! 😅 The pre-release event for Nag Ashwin’s “Kalki 2898 – AD” turned into a veritable circus on Wednesday night in Mumbai. With stars like Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan showing up in their finest, one might expect a dignified affair. But then, Big B decided to give us all a masterclass in comedic timing and humility.

Picture this: Prabhas is just about to shower gratitude upon everyone from the producers to the chaiwala when Amitabh Bachchan, our very own Shahenshah, interrupts with a zinger, “We touch each other’s feet.” 😆 Oh Amitabh, you cheeky legend! The audience bursts into laughter, and before Prabhas can even gather his wits, Big B continues, “He never allows me to do that. Prabhas, be honest now.”

Rana Daggubati, ever the loyal friend, jumps to save Prabhas, saying, “Sir, he is my friend. He is all powerful in movies, but he is extremely introvert and sweet.” To which Amitabh, in his classic jovial style, responds, “But what’s wrong in touching his feet?”

Prabhas, looking like a deer caught in the headlights, tries to regain his composure. He shares an anecdote that made us all go ‘aww’. Apparently, the first time he met Amitabh Bachchan, he touched Big B’s feet. And what did Amitabh say? “Don’t do it. If you will do it, I will do it.” Oh, the humility! Prabhas couldn’t even imagine such a thing, given that he grew up idolizing Amitabh. In the South, every tall person was dubbed “Amitabh Bachchan” because of his towering influence. Quite literally! 😜

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the celebrated filmmaker behind the National Award-winning “Mahanati,” “Kalki 2898 – AD” brings together Deepika Padukone and Prabhas for the first time. Meanwhile, Deepika and Amitabh have previously shared screen space in the heartwarming 2015 film “Piku.”
