Oh darlings, gather ’round! It’s your favorite Bollywood snoop, Bollywood Newshound Nisha, here to spill the chai on the latest B-town buzz. Grab your popcorn and let’s dive into the glamorous world of OTT!
Ananya Panday: The New OTT Queen?
So, our sweet Ananya Panday has been busy, hasn’t she? After charming us in flicks like Gehraiyaan, Dream Girl 2, and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, she’s now teamed up with director Collin Dcunha for her first OTT fiction series, Call Me Bae. And honey, it’s been a hit since it dropped on September 6. The eight-episode series is topping the charts like nobody’s business.
Collin, clearly loving all the adulation, decided to bless us with some behind-the-scenes gems on Instagram. Oh, and he’s not shy about showing off his gratitude to the actors who made guest appearances and cameos. You know how it is in Bollywood – it’s all about who you know and who you can rope in for a quick dance number. 🎬
Here’s the Instagram goldmine he shared: a carousel of images featuring Ananya and her BFF Orry, who, by the way, made a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance. We also get a glimpse of Urvashi Rautela, Vir Das, journalist Faye D’Souza, director Mozez Singh, and Scoop fame Karishma Tanna. The list goes on with Sayani Gupta, Priya Banerjee, and even a dance clip of Ananya, Collin, and Ria Sen shaking a leg to Falguni Pathak’s peppy number, Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi. 📸
Take a look:
In the caption, Collin poured his heart out, thanking everyone who contributed to the show’s success. He gushed, “It’s been over two weeks since our series #CallMeBae has dropped on @primevideoIN and the love hasn’t stopped pouring in! It’s still trending at the No. 1 position in shows. I’m finally beginning to dig into our wonderful archive of memories and today I want to acknowledge and honor the most amazing guest appearances and cameos in our series.”
He even gave a special shoutout to Panchami Ghavri, saying, “Don’t forget to swipe till the end for a special offscreen performance!!! Thank you @panchamighavri without whom none of these would have been possible!” And for those who haven’t caught up yet, the show also stars Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur in key roles.
Nisha’s Nutshell:
Bollywood Lesson #101: If you want to be a star, get yourself a dance number and a carousel of BTS pics. Oh, and don’t forget to thank everyone as if you’re accepting an Oscar. Because in Bollywood, darling, every day is an awards show! 🎭✨
