Anurag Kashyap Deems Conjuring a Film with Shah Rukh Khan a Herculean Task; Citing the Challenge of Matching SRK’s Charismatic Mystery: Spicy Bollywood Gossip!

So, our very own maverick filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently spilt the beans about his long-standing dream of working with the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. However, it seems that our darling SRK’s larger-than-life aura and the pressure of pleasing his sea of dedicated fans have kept this dream collaboration from becoming a reality.

“Working with high-profile actors like Shah Rukh Khan can be as challenging as trying to dance in a saree on a rainy day!” quipped Anurag.

When asked about his favourite SRK film during an interview with Humans of Cinema, Anurag confessed his love for Chak De India and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. However, he admitted that the pressures of social media and the fear of fan rejection have made him apprehensive about collaborating with the superstar.

“It’s like trying to cook a dish that everyone has tasted and loved, but now they only want that exact taste every single time. It’s daunting, my dear friends!” Anurag exclaimed.

Anurag further elaborated that he would rather stick to his unique filmmaking style than cater to the expectations of fans. He admitted that his decision could lead to repercussions, but it’s a risk he’s willing to take.

“If SRK’s film Fan had been a hit, I might have mustered the courage to work with him. But as it stands, I’m just not ready to battle his aura and enigma!” he joked.

Anurag also opened up about the biggest disaster of his career, Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat. Despite losing all his money on the film, he takes full ownership of the failure and has no regrets.

“At least I got to do my thing. It’s like going on a blind date, you might get stood up, but at least you put yourself out there!” he chuckled.

On a more serious note, Anurag also discussed the growing trend of cancel culture, admitting that he has become accustomed to it.

Also, Anurag touched on how India thrives on hero worship, comparing Bollywood megastars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan to superheroes like Iron Man.
