Ah, Bollywood – the land where the unexpected is just a daily occurrence! Buckle up, folks, because your favorite Bollywood snoop, Bollywood Newshound Nisha, is here to spill the latest tea. Grab your popcorn and get ready for a ride full of wit, sarcasm, and a sprinkle of irreverence.
Rani Mukerji as Anurag Kashyap? You Can’t Make This Stuff Up!
Alright, so here’s the latest from the glittering world of Bollywood. In a recent chit-chat session while promoting Bad Cop on Disney+ Hotstar, Gulshan Devaiah dropped a hilarious bombshell. When asked who could possibly portray the enigmatic filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in a biopic, Gulshan’s answer was the ever-fabulous Rani Mukerji. Yep, you read that right. Rani Mukerji. No, this isn’t a typo, and no, you don’t need to refresh your screen. 😂
What Did They Actually Say?
So, during this interview, the ever-candid Anurag was asked about his hypothetical biopic. His response? “No, no, it won’t be made. It will offend too many people. Sach bolunga toh chapega nahin. Jhootha biopic ban sakta hai (If I tell the truth, it won’t be showcased. A fake biopic can be made). I don’t know. Any actor can do it. Anyone can do a fake biopic. I don’t live in the future; I want everything while I am alive.”
Just when you thought this convo couldn’t get any more entertaining, Gulshan swoops in with his gem of a suggestion: Rani Mukerji. Because why not? 👀
A Walk Down Memory Lane
In the same gabfest, Gulshan reminisced about his debut film, The Girl in Yellow Boots, directed by Anurag. “I couldn’t have wished for a better start. I got a director who trusted me with the script and gave me the freedom to make something out of it. I don’t know what I had done to deserve that. It was a special feeling and I will cherish that forever.”
For those of you who need a refresher, The Girl in Yellow Boots featured Kalki Koechlin and Naseeruddin Shah. Fun fact: Kalki co-wrote the script with Anurag, and the whole thing was shot in just 13 days. Talk about efficiency!

Nisha’s Nutshell
So, what’s the moral of this delightful tale? In Nisha’s Nutshell, it’s simple: In Bollywood, expect the unexpected and embrace the absurd. And hey, if Rani Mukerji can be Anurag Kashyap, then maybe I can be the next James Cameron. 😂
