For those living under a rock, "Border 2" was announced in June 2024, marking 27 years since the original film. Sunny Deol shared an emotional video saying, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, Hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai.”
While the OG film was directed by JP Dutta, the sequel is being helmed by Anurag Singh of "Kesari" fame. Dutta saab is sticking to production duties this time around, teaming up with Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Nidhi Dutta. The film is expected to go on floors in November this year.
For the uninitiated, the 1997 "Border" starred a galaxy of stars like Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Rakhee Gulzar, Pooja Bhatt, and Tabu. Talk about a star filled affair!
