Behind the Glitter: Heeramandi Art Director Spills the Beans on Crafting Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Visual Extravaganzas

Bollywood Newshound Nisha here, ready to spill the latest Bollywood tea with my signature blend of sarcasm and sass. Buckle up, darlings!

Creating Bombay’s Old Charm for Heeramandi

Alright, folks, brace yourselves because this one’s a doozy. So, in a desperate attempt to bring back the “good old days” of Bombay, the team for Heeramandi went all out. They whipped up two-story buildings, sprawling balconies, and even threw in some chowks and mosques for good measure. The whole shebang was given a distressed look to capture the essence of historic Kamathipura. Oh, the nostalgia! 🙄

Now, let’s get to the juicy part. They built this entire set in Mumbai’s Film City. And guess what? Hundreds of workers were sweating bullets to make Bhansali’s larger-than-life vision come alive. The man himself, Bhansali, apparently gets as excited as a kid in a candy store every time he sees the set. Imagine a grown man jumping up and down, clapping his hands in glee. Adorable, right? Or maybe just a tad bit obsessive. 😂

Bhansali’s Passion: A Double-Edged Sword

Chakraborty’s description of Bhansali’s enthusiasm is like watching a child unwrap a gift. He’s all praises and excitement. It’s cute, really. But let’s not forget, this is the same passion that often leaves viewers either completely mesmerized or utterly confused. There’s no middle ground with this guy!

And in case you missed it, Bhansali recently announced Heeramandi Season 2. Because one dose of nostalgia wasn’t enough, apparently. Fans are already on the edge of their seats, waiting for the next installment. Will it be more distressed buildings and chowks? Only time will tell! 🎬

Nisha’s Nutshell: The Moral of the Story

In the wacky world of Bollywood, if at first you don’t succeed, build a distressed two-story set and call it Kamathipura. And remember, no matter how old you get, there’s always room for childlike glee—especially if you’re a filmmaker named Bhansali. 🌟
