Bollywood on the Verge of Outshining Hollywood: ‘Thangalaan’ Star Daniel Caltagirone

Hey Bollywood Buffs! It’s your favorite snoop, Khabree Kiran, back with yet another juicy tidbit from the tinsel town. This time, it’s all about the filmi duniya’s grand plans to dethrone Hollywood. Grab your popcorn and settle in!

Move Over Hollywood, Here Comes Bollywood!

So, British actor Daniel Caltagirone, who you might remember from "The Pianist" or maybe "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider," has some rather spicy opinions on the state of Western cinema. In a recent chit-chat, he declared, "Western cinema is dying!" Arre waah! That’s a bold statement, na? And guess who’s ready to take over the throne? Our very own Indian cinema! 🎬

Daniel, who’s donning the antagonist’s hat as Lord Clement in Pa Ranjith’s Tamil film "Thangalaan," believes Bollywood is just a step away from surpassing Hollywood. I mean, who wouldn’t want to see Deepika Padukone at the Oscars? Oh wait, she already did that! 😜

Bollywood Ka Jadoo!

According to Caltagirone, Indian cinema is the full package—exciting, colorful, fun, and passionate. Bhai, it’s like a masala biryani compared to the bland khichdi that Western cinema has become. He says, "Indian filmmaking is so close to superseding Hollywood." Daniel bhai, you’re not wrong! With stars like Deepika making waves globally, it’s only a matter of time.

And let’s not forget his past experiences with Indian filmmakers. He’s worked with Shekhar Kapur in "The Four Feathers" and Tarsem Singh in "The Fall." Ab toh bande ko Indian cinema ka chaska lag gaya hai!

Ranjith Ki Jai Ho!

Calling Ranjith a "social commentator," Daniel admits his education on Indian cinema is just beginning. And when asked about his dream director to work with, he dropped the name—SS Rajamouli. Yep, the man behind "RRR!" Imagine the fireworks if that happens! 💥

And what about his co-stars? Daniel seems to have a bromance brewing with his "Thangalaan" co-star Vikram. He gushes, "We had this crazy understanding. He could be 200 meters away and he’d look at me like that… He is one of the few actors in my life who I can trust." Wah, kya dosti hai!

Thangalaan Ki Tayaari

"Thangalaan" is all set to hit the screens worldwide on August 15, with a special Hindi premiere on September 6. The film also stars Malavika Mohanan and Parvathy Thiruvothu. Mark your calendars, doston!

Kiran’s Gyan

Bollywood is like that old, trusty pressure cooker—always ready to cook up something explosive. Hollywood better watch out, kyunki humara Bollywood is ready to take over. And as Daniel bhai says, the shift is real!
