Bollywood Producer Talks Ridiculous Paychecks – Who Do These Stars Think They Are?

Arre yaar, Bollywood is full of drama, na? Today, we’re diving into the world of high-stakes movie-making and the ever-so-expensive stars of our beloved industry. Yeh suno, Khabree Kiran here, ready to spill the chai on how some of our biggest stars are keeping producers from going bankrupt! Chalo, let’s get into it!

Bollywood ka latest tamasha? High budgets and low returns, bhai! Our industry has been struggling to make some paisa at the box office, especially post-pandemic. Anurag Kashyap ne recently said ki Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan are the most cost-conscious stars. Aur ab producer Ramesh Taurani ne bhi inki taarif kar di, revealing how the finances worked out for "Race 3". Toh suno, here’s the full scoop!

You know, lately, Bollywood movies have been tanking harder than my gym ambitions. 😜 Some prime examples—Selfiee, Laal Singh Chaddha, Adipurush, Bawaal, and Mission Raniganj. While content has evolved and audience tastes have changed, actors’ exorbitant salary demands haven’t helped either. Matlab, kitna paisa chahiye inko?

In a recent chat with Indian Express, Ishq Vishk Rebound producer Ramesh Taurani ne apna dil khol diya. He said, "Haan bhai, entourage cost toh hai, but the bigger problem is the star fee. It’s true that they ask for a high fee but a lot of stars today are mindful of the recoveries and the business. They come in backend, and they agree for profit sharing."

Ramesh Taurani ne further explained how the three Khans ensure producers don’t go broke. "Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aamir Khan do that. We made ‘Race 3’ with Salman, and everything was on a partnership basis. All big stars do this today. Agar entourage cost badhta hai, it will be deducted from their share. It is a better business model," he added. Smart move, na?

On the professional front, Ramesh Taurani is also gearing up for Race 4 and Soldier 2. Pehle bhi unhone backed biggies like Raaz (2002), The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002), Ishq Vishk (2003), Race (2008) and Race 2 (2013).

And Salman Bhai? Oh ho, he’s got a busy schedule ahead with movies like Sikandar, The Bull, and Tiger vs Pathaan. Matlab bhai’s calendar is packed!

Kiran’s Gyan: Bollywood mein paisa kamaana is like a game of snakes and ladders. Kabhi top pe, kabhi flop pe. But yeh three Khans? They know how to play the game. Unka funda clear hai—profit sharing, not profit hoarding. Maybe that’s why they are still ruling the box office! 😎
