So, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest sensation, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, has been the talk of the town (no surprises there, huh?). The show’s so hot, it’s already been renewed for a second season! 🌶️ But, oh boy, our girl Sharmin Segal (a.k.a Alamzeb in the show) has been getting some serious heat! From her interviews to her performance, nothing seems to have gone down well with the critics.
And guess what? Our diva, Richa Chadha, couldn’t just sit and watch. Nope, not Chadha! She’s taken up the mantle of defending her co-star from the trolls. 😎
Sharmin’s been the latest victim of the troll trend, but Richa’s not having any of it. Taking to social media, she shot down the haters, writing, "I know it’s tempting to jump on a trend, but to make another human being click bait? I think we can all do better than that, be better than that. Be kind. Please. It can affect someone’s mental health." She reminds everyone that there’s a lot happening in the world, so why not move on? Hmm, food for thought, isn’t it? 🤔
But Sharmin isn’t just sitting back. In a chat with Pinkvilla, the actress said, “Every creative person creates for an audience. They are a very important part in a creator’s journey…they also help you grow.” She believes that with negativity comes positivity and that it’s all about taking in what resonates with you. That’s some spirit, girl! 💪
Sharmin also opened up about her character, her interpretation of it, and her openness to constructive criticism. “She is quiet, she is nuanced, she is innocent, she is vulnerable… and I think it stands out a little differently because she is not a tawaif," she shared.
“I did put in a lot of hard work and at the end of the day, I gave it my all," said Sharmin. That’s the spirit, girl! No matter what, always give your 100%! 🌟
