Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, the once power couple of Bollywood, decided to call it quits back in July 2021 after a 16-year-long saga of marriage. But, hold your tears because these two have mastered the art of keeping their dosti intact while co-parenting their adorable son, Azad. Kya baat hai! 👏
In a heart-to-heart with Faye D’Souza, our lady Kiran opened up about life after the big D-word. And no, it’s not ‘Drama’, folks! She revealed, "I wanted to feel like my own boss again, have my own space." Talk about girl power, haan! Despite the divorce, she and Aamir share a bond stronger than Fevicol, as co-parents and as a family. "Aamir is not just Azad’s dad but also my friend and family," she added. Sounds like they’ve got a better relationship than some married couples I know! 😂
Kiran also shared her pearls of wisdom on relationships, saying, "Sometimes, relationships need a little makeover. We evolve, we grow, and this change has brought me happiness." Well, Kiran, you’re definitely giving us some serious gyaan! 💡
Reflecting on her pre-Aamir days, Kiran mentioned, "I was single for a long time before Aamir, enjoyed my independence, but yes, loneliness was my constant companion." However, now with Azad in her life, she doesn’t feel lonely anymore. She’s grateful for the support from her and Aamir’s family and friends. Talk about #DivorceGoals, right?
For those who missed it, Aamir played the supportive ex by co-producing Kiran’s directorial comeback, Laapataa Ladies, which hit the screens on March 1, 2024. And guess what? Our girl was spotted at Ira Khan’s wedding festivities, Aamir’s daughter with Reena Dutta. Seems like this family really knows how to keep it together! 🎬
