Deepika Padukoneâs Oscar Blues: A Tale of Snubs and Triumphs
Arre, Bollywood ke deewano, it seems our very own Deepika Padukone is feeling a bit dukhi about the Oscars! đ˘ The elegant diva recently expressed her thoughts on the Academyâs penchant for snubbing Indian films and talents. Deepika took to Instagram to share her musings while getting dolled up for the Louis Vuitton show in Paris. Talk about multitasking, hai na?
In her candid video, Deepika recalled the emotional whirlwind she experienced at this yearâs Oscars, especially when RRRâs foot-tapping Naatu Naatu snagged the award for Best Original Song in 2023. Now thatâs what I call a desi win! đđ Despite having no personal ties to the movie, Deepika admitted that the victory felt immensely personal, as if she herself had taken home the golden statuette.
And if you think thatâs all, hold on to your pallu! Deepika was also thrilled for Adrien Brody, who bagged the Best Actor Oscar for "The Brutalist." But letâs be real, the real spotlight was on our beloved RRR!
But wait, thereâs more! The video snippet had glimpses of some critically acclaimed Indian films like Payal Kapadiaâs All We Imagine As Light, Kiran Raoâs Laapataa Ladies, Rahi Anil Barveâs Tumbadd, and Ritesh Batraâs The Lunchbox. These films may have wooed audiences but were left empty-handed at the Academy Awards. Kya yaar, India deserves better!
Meanwhile, at the 97th Academy Awards, the film Anora made history with a whopping five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Mikey Madison. Director Sean Baker must be doing the bhangra right about now! đş
Our Deepu was in the city of love, attending the Louis Vuitton extravaganza at the iconic Cour CarrĂŠe du Louvre. She has the honor of being the first Indian signed as a global ambassador by luxury giants Louis Vuitton and Cartier. Balle balle, Deepika!
Kiranâs Gyan:
Bollywood bhaiyon aur behnon, Oscars are like that elusive aam you can see but canât reach. But remember, the real magic happens when we dance to our own tune, whether itâs Naatu Naatu or any other desi beat. Keep shining, Bollywood! đ
