Ravi Teja: The Childhood Firestarter with Big B Dreams!
Ravi Teja, our very own Mass Maharaja, had Bollywood dreams right from bachpan! Can you believe this guy tried to run away from home to become famous like Amitabh Bachchan? 😲 Arre wah, what dedication!
Hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Ravi was born on January 26, 1968. His dad was a pharmacist, and his mom, a typical homemaker. Ravi has two brothers, Bharath and Raghu, who followed in his filmi footsteps. Due to his dad’s job, Ravi’s childhood was a whirlwind tour of India – Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal – before finally settling in Vijayawada. There, he wrapped up his Bachelor of Arts at Siddhartha Degree College.

Bachpan ka Pyaar for Cinema
From a young age, Ravi had a filmi keeda. His Amitabh Bachchan fandom was so intense that at the ripe old age of five, he nearly set his house on fire reenacting one of Big B’s scenes! 😆 Picture this: a little Ravi, all set to be the next angry young man, accidentally turning his living room into a fire hazard while his mom was out shopping. Talk about dedication!

Ravi’s Road to Stardom
In 1988, Ravi packed his bags and moved to Madras (now Chennai) with dreams of making it big. Starting with small roles in films like Karthavyam and Abhimanyu, he even worked behind the scenes as an assistant director. His big break came with Sindhooram, where he played a supporting role. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu – bada dhamaka, right?
But it was in 2001 that Ravi truly hit the jackpot with Itlu Sravani Subramanyam. This was his commercial breakthrough, and there was no looking back. Films like Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru! and Idiot cemented his stardom. Over the years, he delivered hits like Vikramarkudu, Kick, and Bengal Tiger.

On the Personal Side
Ravi tied the knot with Kalyani on May 26, 2002. Kalyani, from Ganapavaram, and Ravi have two kids: daughter Mokshadha and son Mahadhan. Kalyani stays away from the limelight, and we hardly get a peek into her life through social media. Mystery woman, much?

Ravi’s Hiatus and Comeback
After Bengal Tiger in 2015, Ravi took a break. What was supposed to be a one-year chutti turned into two because he couldn’t find the right scripts. Instead of moping around, Ravi used this time to travel and binge-watch TV series. Smart move, boss!
Now, he’s all set to make a grand comeback with Mr. Bachchan – no, not another Big B biopic! This one’s directed by Harish Shankar and is based on a real-life income tax raid. The film has a stellar cast including Sachin Khedekar and Jagapathi Babu and is slated for an Independence Day 2024 release.
