Fans were hoping to see SRK donning that villainous avatar once again, but alas, Farhan had different plans. In a recent chat with journalist Faye D’Souza, Farhan opened up about SRK’s exit from the franchise.

A snippet from their convo got shared on X by a user named Aamir Khan. Farhan revealed his reasons for casting Ranveer Singh and how Shah Rukh Khan just didn’t fit the bill this time. Age, my friends, is a factor here. Farhan said, "When I first started thinking about doing a Don 3, obviously, I thought of writing something with Shah Rukh." But somehow, they couldn’t find a common ground for the story. Farhan added, "Let me kind of just rethink what I want to do with the film…" and that’s how Ranveer Singh entered the picture. It’s déjà vu from when Hrithik was considered for the role but SRK eventually fit the character better.
