Oh, DDLJ, You Old Gem!
Can you believe it’s been 29 years since “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” hit the screens? Yep, the film that made us all want to run away with our Raj or Simran. Starring the ever-dramatic duo, Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, this movie also featured the veteran actress Farida Jalal as Kajol’s mother, Lajwanti. Auntie Farida has been spilling some spicy beans recently in an interview, and you know I’m here for it! 😏
Kajol the Comedian? Who Knew!
Picture this: an emotional scene is unfolding. Farida, with tears in her eyes, is delivering a heart-wrenching line to Kajol. She’s telling her daughter that she will never let what happened to her happen to Kajol. But oh, hold your horses! Kajol, standing right there, is trying her best to make Farida laugh! 🤣
Turns out, it was a back shot of Kajol, so the camera didn’t capture her antics. Only Farida’s tear-streaked face was in focus. And Kajol? She was going bananas, making faces and cracking jokes. The audacity! 😂
The Great Aditya Chopra Smackdown
In a chat with Bollywood Bubble, Farida revealed how Kajol tested her limits during that scene. While Farida was trying to keep it together, Kajol was right there, whispering sweet nothings like, “You look so pretty, Farida ji. So beautiful!” Can you imagine? Farida admitted she adores Kajol, but when the director yells “cut,” everyone burst out laughing. Kudos to Farida for pulling it off; anyone else would have flopped! Even Aditya Chopra couldn’t handle Kajol’s antics and often scolded her on set. Still, she kept the laughter rolling! 😂
Shah Rukh, We Need a Reunion!
Farida also mentioned how much she’d love to work with Shah Rukh Khan again. Well, who wouldn’t? That man’s charisma is like a magnet. Somebody make this happen! 🙏
Throwback to the 90s Magic
“Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” premiered on October 20, 1995. Directed by Aditya Chopra and produced by Yash Johar, it featured a celebrity filled cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Anupam Kher, and Amrish Puri. The film didn’t just win hearts; it bagged 10 Hindi Movie News Awards! Talk about a blockbuster! 🏆
Nisha’s Nutshell
In Bollywood, if you can make someone laugh during a tear-jerker scene, you’re either a genius or a menace. Kajol, apparently, is both. 😜
Stay tuned, my lovelies! More Bollywood shenanigans coming your way! 🎬✨
