Fashion 2 is in the Works?
Madhur Bhandarkar recently spilled the beans about his plans for Fashion 2. Yes, you heard it right! The man who gave us the iconic Fashion (2008) starring Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut is planning to dive back into the glamorous yet chaotic world of fashion. Aur bhaiya, yeh khabar toh bomb ke jaise phooti hai! 💣
In a chit-chat session with Hindi Movie News, Madhur expressed his keen interest in exploring the current state of the modeling and fashion industry. And why not? With social media taking over our lives, the roles of supermodels have become as extinct as dinosaurs. Remember when supermodels were the ultimate showstoppers? Ab toh har doosra celeb aur influencer us position pe hai. 😏
Where Did All the Supermodels Go?
Madhur, when asked about Fashion 2, said, "I feel Fashion has all the potential for a sequel. Today, the world of fashion has changed. As a filmmaker, I feel I have a lot of material and hence, it can be turned into a show, spanning a couple of seasons. But it also is apt for a film. Hence, nothing has been decided yet. The subject, however, is interesting. Social media has completely taken over. There was a time when we used to hear of supermodels. But in the last few years, can you recall the name of any supermodel? Bollywood celebs have taken over and have become showstoppers. This is what I want to ask through Fashion 2 – where have these supermodels disappeared? A girl sitting in some small town can be a model or an influencer. I want to focus on these aspects."
About the Original Fashion
For those who need a refresher, Fashion starred Priyanka Chopra in the lead role, along with Kangana Ranaut, Arbaaz Khan, Mughda Godse, Samir Soni, and Kitu Gidwani. Priyanka and Kangana both bagged National Film Awards for their performances. The film was a deep dive into the murky waters of the glamour industry, focusing on a small-town girl’s journey to becoming a supermodel. Who knew fashion could be this dark, huh?
