Once upon a time, Akki baba was Bollywoodâs hit factory, churning out blockbusters like Good Newwz, Kesari, Mission Mangal, and Housefull 4 in 2019. Fast forward to today, and itâs been one flop show after another since "Bell Bottom" in 2021. Bhai, even the best of us have bad days, right?
In a juicy interview with Galatta Plus, Akshay revealed that some folks in the industry are actually happy about his box office failures. Can you believe it? "People love seeing it when 3-4-5 films donât work. Iâve seen it myself. People (from the industry) are happy ki inka picture nahi chala," he said. Talk about dushman in disguise, yaar!
He even shared a hilarious incident from a recent award show. When asked by a channel how he felt about his last four films flopping, Akshay gave it back with a zinger: "Mai usko dekha, mai bola beta waisa hi lag raha hai jaisa tera channel nai chalta hai." Burn! đ„
The man of the hour also tackled the criticism about his overexposure with 3-4 films a year. His response? Classic Akshay style: "Aap mereko guarantee de sakte hai ki mai 2 saal me ek picture karunga toh chalegi? Bohot logo ne kiya hai, chali? Koi guarantee nahi hai!"
Despite the setbacks, Akshay Kumar isnât one to back down. He plans to keep working hard, regardless of the box office numbers. His current project, "Sarfira," is a remake of Suriyaâs "Soorarai Pottru." The film also stars Paresh Rawal and Radhika Madan in supporting roles.
