Gyanendra Tripathi: From Distributing Newspaper to Stealing Spotlight in Akshay Kumar’s Flick – His First Paycheck Went Straight to Mom!

Three days ago. Writer: Virendra Mishra

Oh, honey, you’re not going to believe this! Gyanendra Tripathi – you know, that actor who made waves in Crime Patrol, web series ‘Half CA’ and ‘Chuna’ – has finally landed a lead role! He’s been making a name for himself in ‘Barah by Barah’, where he’s playing a youth clicking photos of the departed on the ghats of Varanasi. It’s a grim job, but someone’s gotta do it, right?

Did you know, he used to distribute newspapers to pay for his own education? And his first paycheck? He gave it straight to his mom – how sweet!

After being lauded in over 40 film festivals, ‘Barah by Barah’ hit the theaters. Honey, the critics are raving about Gyanendra’s performance! That’s when he spilled some juicy details about his journey into acting.

Everyone thought he’d be an engineer

Born in a village near Rewa, Gyanendra’s family moved to Bhopal when he was barely three. He was a whiz kid, especially in math. Everyone thought he’d be an engineer. But then…

College ragging made him realize he wanted to act

After 10th grade, Gyanendra realized that physics, chemistry, and college life weren’t for him. The college seniors used to rag him, and weirdly, he started enjoying it! Now, who would’ve thought that ragging could inspire a career in acting?

His family couldn’t afford the fees for an acting institute

Despite his parents’ wishes for him to become a doctor or engineer, Gyanendra was determined to become an actor. But, the fees for the acting institute were sky-high. So, he worked in Pune before joining FTII.

Teachers had warned him in advance

Only 20 students in all of India get selected to FTII, and the teachers there always remind students that no one in Mumbai is waiting for them. It’s a hard pill to swallow, especially for someone who’s just started dreaming of the silver screen.

He started his career with Crime Patrol

He faced a lot of rejections at first. But he didn’t let that get him down. He started small with a scene in Crime Patrol and slowly made a name for himself.

He became popular after a film with Akshay Kumar

Gyanendra played a small role in Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gabbar is Back’, which went viral and earned him a lot of recognition. A small role can make a big difference, right?

He gave his first earning to his mother

From Crime Patrol, he earned his first paycheck of 2,500 rupees. While he was studying in Bhopal, he used to earn 450 rupees per month by distributing Dainik Bhaskar newspapers, which he gave to his mother.

Moral of the Story

And that, folks, is the power of perseverance! From a newspaper delivery boy to starring in a film with Akshay Kumar, Gyanendra Tripathi has shown us that dreams do come true. But remember, honey, there’s no escalator to success – only stairs. So, lace up your boots and start climbing!
