Hindustani 2 Trailer Launch: Kamal Haasan Spills the Beans on Dilip Kumar; Confesses, “I’d Sneak to Mumbai on His B-Day, Bow Down, and Plant a Kiss on His Hand” – Bollywood Gossip

Oh, Bollywood! Just when you think it can’t get any more dramatic, it does! And who better to spill the tea than yours truly, Bollywood Newshound Nisha? Buckle up, because this ride is about to get bumpy, hilarious, and a tad nostalgic!

So, darlings, the much-anticipated trailer of Hindustani 2 (aka Indian 2 in Tamil) had its grand reveal in Mumbai. And boy, was it a spectacle! With Kamal Haasan and director Shankar in the house, how could it not be? 🌟

Kamal Haasan, the legend himself, decided to take a stroll down memory lane. And what a stroll it was! Picture this: Kamal, with all the humility in the world, reminiscing about his love for the iconic Dilip Kumar. Yes, folks, the superstar admitted he used to fly down to Mumbai just to kneel and kiss Dilip saab’s hand on his birthday. Talk about fanboying! 😲

Kamal, darling, if only we all had such dedication—maybe then we’d all be legends too!

And to add a cherry on top of this nostalgia cake, Kamal revealed, "A few days ago, I was saluting my gurus. Now, here’s someone calling me a guru. Should I accept it or doubt myself? Always doubted because I’ve worked with the greatest. Some of them are from here (Bollywood). I’m a student of Yusuf saab, Dilip Kumar saab." Cue the applause, people! 👏

But wait, there’s more! Kamal didn’t just stop at sharing fan moments. He threw in a little-known secret: "I’ve been a movie buff since I was 3. Did my first film then, it released when I was 5, and here I am, still going strong!" Like, seriously Kamal? Some of us can’t even stick to a diet for a week! 😜

And if you thought that was it, you’re in for another twist. Kamal had once planned to remake his film Thevar Magan in Hindi, and guess who he wanted as his on-screen daddy? None other than Dilip Kumar! Unfortunately, Dilip saab had hung up his acting boots by then. The role eventually went to Amrish Puri in the Hindi remake Virasat (1997).

Kamal wistfully shared, “I really wanted to work with Dilip Kumar saab. Held his hand, begged him, but he’d decided not to act.” Aww, Kamal, you tug at our heartstrings! 💔

Hindustani 2 is set to hit the cinemas on July 12, 2024. So, mark your calendars, and get ready for what promises to be an epic cinematic experience. 🎬
