Hello, hello, Bollywood ke deewano! It’s your favorite Bollywood snoop, Khabree Kiran, back with some piping hot chai from the Rajya Sabha! Hold on to your popcorn, ’cause this one’s a blockbuster! 🎬
So, picture this: our very own Jaya Bachchan in the Rajya Sabha, giving a masterclass on feminism and self-respect, all while keeping her sense of humor intact. Matlab, kya scene tha! 😎
It all kicked off when Chairman Dhankhar called Jaya Bachchan by her official name during question hour. But, hold on, kya aapko Amitabh ka matlab pata hai, Sir? Jaya Ji ne ekdum sahi point uthaya. She cheekily asked the Chairman if he knew the meaning of "Amitabh." 😜
Dhankhar Ji, who seemed to have a procedure for everything, suggested she officially change her name if she had any issues. "Ma’am aap badal dijiye, main badalwa dunga," he said, probably thinking he’s the hero of this script. But Jaya Ji was having none of it! She proudly declared her pride in her husband Amitabh Bachchan’s achievements. "No sir, I am very proud of my name and my husband. It signifies abha, jo mit nahi sakti (the shine that cannot be wiped away)," she said, shutting down the drama faster than a flop Friday release.
Dhankhar Ji, not one to back down, shared an anecdote about spotting Amitabh Bachchan’s photo in a French hotel, adding that the entire nation is proud. Waah waah, kya baat hai! 👏
As Jaya Ji resumed her questioning, she threw another curveball by suggesting the Chairman use his wife’s name before his own. Dhankhar Ji, ever the sport, quipped that he sometimes refers to himself as "Sudeshpati," after his wife, Mrs. Sudesh. Manohar Lal Khattar, who was also present, humorously lamented his unmarried status, saying he might need another life to fulfill Jaya Ji’s suggestion. Arre bhai, life insurance policy nahi chal rahi yahan! 😂
The House burst into smiles, and Dhankhar Ji remarked that Khattar Ji had given an assurance that might even spill into his next life. Amidst all this witty banter, Khattar Ji eventually answered Jaya Ji’s supplementary question.
This isn’t the first time Jaya Ji has taken a stand. On July 29, she had also taken exception to being called Jaya Amitabh Bachchan, questioning why women need to be recognized by their husband’s name, as if they have no achievements of their own. Hear, hear! 🙌
For those who don’t know (seriously, kaun ho tum?), Jaya Bachchan has been a force to reckon with in both cinema and politics. Married to the megastar Amitabh Bachchan since June 3, 1973, they have two children, Shweta and Abhishek. The couple has shared screen space in classics like Zanjeer, Sholay, Abhimaan, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Since stepping into politics in 2004, Jaya Ji has been a vocal advocate for women’s rights and social issues. Truly, ek admi aur kya maange?
Kiran’s Gyan:
Bollywood aur politics ka connection toh purana hai, but Jaya Ji ne aaj dikhaya ki asli hero kaun hai! Whether it’s on the silver screen or the political stage, she knows how to make her presence felt. So, next time you underestimate a Bollywood star, remember, they might just have a Parliament-worthy punchline up their sleeve! 💥
