So how many times have you blurted out "Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye" every time you see Diljit Dosanjh? A million times, am I right? Well, guess what? The Punjabi fever has finally hit Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show! And yes, our Desi Girl, Priyanka Chopra, noticed it too. Check out the deets below!
Hold on to your dhols, folks! Our very own Punjabi rockstar, Diljit Dosanjh, graced the stage of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and decided to give Jimmy a crash course in Punjabi. The Instagram post starts with one of Diljit’s catchy tunes and quickly transitions into a language lesson that you just can’t miss. Fallon, in his usual charming way, tries to say "Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye," and even attempts "Sat Sri Akal," a traditional Punjabi greeting.
And the best part? Diljit’s "wow" reaction to Jimmy’s attempt, followed by laughter, handshakes, and a bro-hug. Oh, and Priyanka Chopra couldn’t resist commenting, "It’s the Oye for me." Talk about a global Punjabi takeover!
Here’s the video for your viewing pleasure:
As expected, the internet went wild. Comments like "Jimmy Singh is officially in the house!" and "Jimpreet Singh has arrived!" flooded the post. One fan humorously remarked, "Punjabi Sikhage oyeee, you killed it, Jimmy." Another one simply said, "Oyee, Jimmy Dosanjh in the house." The love for Jimmy’s Punjabi debut is real, y’all!
In a recent podcast chat with Raj Shamani, Diljit opened up about his debut on The Tonight Show. He revealed he would be performing a musical act but cheekily mentioned that he hadn’t decided on the song yet. Ah, the classic ‘I’ll decide on the plane’ move. Classic Diljit!
Diljit has been busy, to say the least. He recently wowed audiences with his movie Amar Singh Chamkila, starring alongside Parineeti Chopra. Up next, he’s set to release Jatt and Juliet 3 with Neeru Bajwa. And if that wasn’t enough, he’s working on a new album titled Legacy. Oh, and did I mention he’s starring in No Entry 2 alongside Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan? Because why not, right?
Nisha’s Nutshell:
In Bollywood, if you can make Jimmy Fallon say "Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye," you’ve officially arrived. Moral of the story? Language is no barrier when you’ve got swag. And if you ever find yourself in a linguistic pickle, just add an "Oye" at the end. Works like a charm. 🎭
