Junaid Khan’s Views Skyrocket by 430%, Yet He Still Can’t Outshine Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies!

Arre bhai, Bollywood mein kya chal raha hai! Today, let’s dive into the masaledaar world of Junaid Khan and his new film Maharaj. And, of course, we can’t miss out on Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies!

Maharaj OTT Verdict Week 2:

So, Junaid Khan, Aamir Khan ka beta, decided to step into the limelight with Maharaj. The movie started off with a whisper but has now become the talk of the town. Guess what? It’s streaming on Netflix and making the right kind of noise, despite a quiet debut.

Junaid’s film, co-starring Jaideep Ahlawat, Sharvari, and Shalini Sinha, has made its way into Netflix’s global top 10 charts. In its second week, the movie has bagged a spot at number 2 globally with a whopping 5.3 million views and 11.5 million viewing hours. Wah bhai wah!

The 430% Jump:

In just one week, Maharaj saw a viewership jump of more than 430%. Pehle week mein, the film had less than 1.1 million views. But in the second week, it jumped to 5.3 million views. Netflix ne pehle week ke views abhi tak release nahi kiye hain, but we can guess it’s around 6 million total. Not bad, Junaid!

Fails to Beat Laapataa Ladies:

But wait, here’s the twist! Maharaj still couldn’t beat Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies. Rao’s film earned a massive 7.8 million views in two weeks. Even in its second week, it managed to get 5.6 million views, a bit more than Maharaj. Lekin Junaid ke debut ka jump from week 1 to week 2 is definitely higher!

Maharaj Ruling at #1:

Despite the close competition, Maharaj is ruling the charts in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Maldives. It’s also in the top 10 in several other countries including Bahrain, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. Africa mein bhi the film is trending in Mauritius, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, and Réunion. South America and Europe bhi peeche nahi hain – Guadeloupe, Trinidad and Tobago, and Luxembourg are all loving Maharaj!

About Maharaj:

The film is based on the 1862 court case known as ‘The Maharaj Libel Case’ in Bombay. Siddharth P. Malhotra has done an excellent job in making a movie that is not just thought-provoking but also socially relevant.

Kiran’s Gyan:

Bollywood mein ek hi rule hai doston—Never underestimate the power of a quiet debut! Kabhi kabhi chhupke se aana, aur dhamaka karna is the best strategy. Aur haan, competition toh hamesha rahega, but ultimately, it’s all about the story and the craft. Ab bas, let’s see what the next week brings!

That’s it for today! Keep tuning in for more such spicy updates.
