Kalki’s Throwback to Dev D Days

When Kalki landed the role of Leni/Chanda in Dev D, she was still learning Hindi. And boy, was it a rollercoaster! "It felt like a big exam," she recalls. But, kuch bhi ho, our Kalki didn’t give up! She even confessed to PTI, "I could say the dialogues in my sleep!" That’s what we call true filmi junoon!

Flash forward 15 years, and the film is still hailed as a cult classic. Thanks to Anurag Kashyap’s vision, Abhay Deol as the brooding Dev, and of course, the unforgettable soundtrack by Amit Trivedi. Who can forget the evergreen Emosanal Attyachaar? It’s still on Kalki’s playlist, and she swears by its magic.

Nawazuddin’s Elvis Moment

Oh, and did I mention the surprise package? Nawazuddin Siddiqui, with his Elvis-style performance in the Emosanal Attyachaar video! Kalki reminisces meeting a shy Nawaz, quietly practicing his lines. But when he hit the stage, bam! A star was born, and everyone was left spellbound. Maza aagaya boss! 😎

Life After Dev D

Post Dev D, Kalki’s journey has been nothing short of a filmi kahani. From impactful performances in films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara to streaming hits like Sacred Games, she’s done it all. And now, as a mom to little Sappho, Kalki admits her pace has slowed down a bit. "I want to be home more," she shares. But don’t worry, she’s not hanging her boots just yet!
