Another day, another Bollywood tamasha, doston! This time it’s our beloved philanthropist Sonu Sood and the ever-so-outspoken Kangana Ranaut who are making waves, and trust me, you don’t want to miss this drama!
Kangana’s Angry Avatar
Haan bhai, Kangana ne fir se dhamaka kar diya! Our feisty actress-turned-MP took to X (Twitter for those still living under a rock) to roast Sonu Sood for his bizarre defense of a food vendor who was caught on camera spitting on rotis. "Next thing you know, Sonu ji will be directing his own version of Ramayana based on his newfound gyaan about God and religion. Wah kya baat hai, Bollywood se ek aur Ramayana!" Kangana tweeted, with her usual flair for drama. 🤦♀️
And guess what? She wasn’t done. She reposted a message that read, “SHOCKING NEWS… Bollywood actor Sonu Sood justifies spitting in people’s food. He equates spitting on food by a miscreant with Lord Ram eating Shabri’s berries. He said ‘if Lord Ram could eat Shabri’s berries, why can’t he eat rotis that have been spat upon?’ He defended the act of spitting by describing it as an act of ‘Humanity’. He said ‘Humanity must remain intact.’” Arre bhai, yeh kya logic hai?
The Root of the Drama
Toh kya hua tha exactly? Well, earlier this week, a video surfaced on X showing a boy preparing rotis and spitting on them. This controversial footage was shared in response to Sonu Sood’s tweet questioning the UP and Haridwar authorities’ mandate for eateries along the Kanwar Yatra route to display the names of their owners. Ek X user ne toh suggestion bhi de diya, "The roti smeared with spit should be parcelled to Sonu Sood, so that brotherhood remains intact!"
Sonu, in his infinite wisdom, replied, “Our Shri Ram Ji ate the sour berries of Shabri, so why can’t I eat them? Violence can be defeated by non-violence my brother. Humanity must just remain intact. Jai Shri Ram.” Bas phir kya, social media pe mahaul garam ho gaya!
Social Media ka Gussa
Social media users toh bilkul bhadak gaye. One user wrote, “Itna bhi defend maat karo, galat ko bhi sahi proof karne mein lage ho. (Don’t stoop down to defend something that you start sounding wrong.)” Ouch!
Another comment was even more scathing: "Sonu, nonsense is at its place and truth is at its place, the one who makes this roti is neither Mother Shabari nor are you Ram? Mother Shabari is the symbol of love, this person is spitting in hatred."
Aur ek aur user ne toh epic reply diya: "Mother Shabari was a devotee of Lord Rama and she had not made the berries impure out of malice. She was simply giving them to Lord Rama after tasting them to know whether they were sweet or not in her innocence. The person shown in the video neither loves his customers nor is he spitting on the roti to taste it to check if it is cooked properly or not. The reason behind his action is hatred towards other religions. And you are comparing the act of such a person with that of mother Shabari? You are a very foolish person."
What’s Next?
On the professional front, Sonu will soon grace the silver screen in the cyber crime thriller Fateh, starring alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Naseeruddin Shah. Directed by Abhinandan Gupta, the film is set to release later this year.
Kangana, meanwhile, is gearing up for her film Emergency, where she will portray former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film, backed by Zee Studios, will release on September 7 this year. Dialogues by Ritesh Shah and music by Sanchit Balhara – it’s surely one to watch out for!
Kiran’s Gyan
Arre Bollywood, yeh kya tha? When you start comparing spit-laden rotis to divine berries, you know you’re in deep trouble. Bhai, thoda logic and sanity bhi maintain karo. Bas itna yaad rakho – Bollywood mein kuch bhi ho sakta hai, but common sense toh intact rehna chahiye, right?
Stay tuned, mere Bollywood ke deewanon, more masala is always just around the corner! 🎬✨
