Karan Johar, Kartik Aaryan, Malaika Arora Play Dress-Up on Melbourne Streets, Thanks to Mini Mathur

Oh darling readers, gather ‘round, because Bollywood Newshound Nisha is back with her claws out and her humor sharp! Today, we’re diving into the glitzy escapades of our favorite Bollywood stars frolicking down under in Melbourne. 🎬✨

Karan Johar, Malaika Arora, and Kartik Aaryan Play Tourist in Melbourne!

Alright, my lovelies, let’s talk about how our Bollywood glitterati – Karan Johar, Malaika Arora, Kartik Aaryan, Kabir Khan, Mini Mathur, and the fresh face Lakshya – have been turning Melbourne into their very own film set. They’re there for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2024, but who needs red carpets when Melbourne streets are just begging for a photoshoot, right? 📸

Mini Mathur, bless her soul, decided to grace us with some Insta-worthy moments. The first snap? Our favorite trio – Malaika, Karan, and Mini – striking poses against street graffiti like they’ve just stepped out of a Vogue spread. And then there’s Kabir Khan, playing the dutiful photographer. Oh, the lengths directors go to for a good shot! 😜

Mini captioned her post with a simple, “Melbourne Street posers.” Karan, ever the modest one, chimed in with a "Best" in the comments, while Amrita Arora went emoji-happy with hearts. Because why use words when emojis can do all the talking? 💕

But wait, there’s more! The festival kicked off officially on August 15 with a press conference featuring big names like Shoojit Sircar, Rima Das, Adarsh Gourav, Lakshya, and Sona Mohapatra. And because no event is complete without a grand opening, Caroline Pitcher from VicScreen and festival director Mitu Bhowmik Lange delivered the keynote addresses.

Karan, ever the drama king, expressed his excitement, “I’m extremely excited about watching the opening night film. What sets IFFM apart from other festivals is its true standing for diversity. It’s one of those festivals that truly champions inclusivity in every regard.” Ah, Karan, always the spokesperson for inclusivity. We see you! 👏

Kartik Aaryan, attending the festival for the second time, shared his enthusiasm, “Really looking forward to the festival this year. And also excited to see the films that are part of the festival this year.” Well, Kartik, let’s hope the films are as charming as you are!

The festival will run from August 15 to August 25, showcasing a vibrant mix of Indian cinema. So, if you’re in Melbourne, go soak up some culture and maybe spot a Bollywood star or two.

Before the festival, the ever-graceful Rani Mukerji launched a commemorative stamp in honor of the legendary Yash Chopra at the Australian Parliament House. A fitting tribute to a man who gave us cinematic gems. Bravo, Rani! 🌟

Nisha’s Nutshell:

In Bollywood, everyone’s a poser, especially when there’s graffiti involved. Festivals are just extended Instagram photoshoots with a side of cinema. And remember, in the filmi world, if it’s not on Insta, did it even happen?
