Hello doston! Welcome back to another explosive edition of Bollywood baatein with your favorite gossip queen, Khabree Kiran! Today, we dive into the drama surrounding our beloved tinsel town – hold tight, it’s going to be a bumpy ride! 🎬✨
Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar’s Paisa Talk: Who’s Worth What? 💸
So, picture this: our very own Zoya Akhtar and KJo, the king of Koffee, were at a directors’ roundtable, chatting about the kaam kaaj of Bollywood. And boy, did Zoya drop a bombshell! 💣 She told Karan, "Bhai, you just have to stop paying those crazy high fees to male stars." 😂
Karan, visibly taken aback, replied that he’s already on it. "What was your last big hit? How many ticket sales did you get? How can you ask for the same amount as the entire budget of my low-budget film, Kill? Bhai, jab 40 crore ka budget hai, tum 40 crore kaise maang sakte ho?" he said. Talk about hitting the nail on the head! 🎯
KJo went on to reveal that there are only around six male actors who are actually worth the big bucks, but we have over 200 films to make every year. Matlab, producers need to cut the pie differently and give some to the new kids on the block. Zoya added that the technical crew should also get their fair share since these male stars are hogging 70% of the budget. Arey wah! Pehle bhi bola tha, ab bhi bol raha hoon – ab kuch toh badlega!
Kill: The Movie That Killed It! 🎥
For those living under a rock, Kill hit the cinemas this July. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and co-produced by Karan’s Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment, it starred Lakshya in his Bollywood debut, along with Raghav Juyal, Tanya Maniktala, and Ashish Vidyarthi. The film is an action-packed rollercoaster set on a moving train. 🚂💥 It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and got picked up by Lionsgate Pictures for North American distribution. Oh, and did I mention? John Wick’s director Chad Stahelski is planning a Hollywood adaptation of Kill! 😱
By the way, Kill earned ₹24.2 crore at the India box office. Not bad for a film without a big-name star, huh?
Kiran’s Gyan 🤓
Bollywood mein paisa hi sab kuch nahi hota, doston! Sometimes, it’s about the passion, the vision, and the sheer talent that makes a film truly memorable. So, dear producers, chalo, thoda paisa bachaao aur naye chehre laao. Kyunki, end mein, "Picture abhi baaki hai, mere dost!" 🎬✨
