Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies Goes Supreme!

Kiran took to Instagram to share her excitement, aur kyun na ho? It’s not every day you see your film being watched by the Chief Justice of India!

Kiran Rao’s Insta Love:

In her Instagram post, Kiran shared a bunch of pictures from this extraordinary day. She looked like she was on cloud nine, sitting next to Aamir Khan, with the CJI DY Chandrachud and Ms Kalpana Das adding to the frame. And trust me, she wasn’t holding back on the gratitude! She wrote, "We had the unbelievable honour of screening our film Laapataa Ladies at the Supreme Court yesterday. As is visible in these pictures, I am over the moon! Deeply grateful to our absolutely brilliant CJI DY Chandrachud, his wonderful partner Ms Kalpana Das, and the whole team of the CJI. It is an experience I will personally always hold dear, and on behalf of my entire cast and crew, I am so thankful for this honour."

Fan Reactions:

Naturally, the reactions poured in! Actor Pratibha Ranta, who played Pushpa in the film, was like, "Omggg 😍" while Nitanshi Goel, who played Phool, added her own flower emoticons. Ah, the power of emojis! 🌾🌾

The Film’s Plot:

For those of you who missed the buzz, Laapataa Ladies stars fresh faces Pratibha Ratna, Sparsh Shrivastav, and Nitanshi Goel. It’s set in the fictional state of Nirmal Pradesh in 2001, where two brides get swapped on a train. One ends up at another’s home, while the other is left high and dry at a railway station. Enter Kishan (played by Ravi Kishan), the police officer who takes it upon himself to solve this quirky case. The story is based on an award-winning tale by Biplab Goswami. And oh, the film is produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and Jyoti Deshpande under Aamir Khan Productions, Kindling Pictures, and Jio Studios. Catch it on Netflix if you haven’t already!
