Laapataa Ladies Writer Refutes Copycat Allegations Amidst Alleged Resemblance to Arabic Film: ‘Discredits My Hard Work’ | Bollywood

Hello, Bollywood buffs and gossip mongers! Fasten your seatbelts as Khabree Kiran takes you on yet another rollercoaster ride through the glittering corridors of B-Town. This time, we’re diving headfirst into the curious case of ‘Laapataa Ladies’ and its alleged twin, the Arabic flick ‘Burqa City.’ Kya scene hai, bhai? Let’s find out!

The Plot Thickens: Laapataa Ladies’ Writer Speaks Up! 🎬

Arrey, kya zamana aa gaya hai, yaar! Biplab Goswami, the mastermind behind the script of ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ recently found himself in the middle of a plagiarism ka bawaal. Internet detectives, with their magnifying glasses, have been drawing parallels between his film and the Arabic movie ‘Burqa City.’ But Biplab ji is not having any of it! 📜

In his social media proclamation, Biplab clarified that his script was registered with the Screenwriters Association way back in 2014, long before the said Arabic film even saw the light of day. He even went on to say that his feature-length script, then called ‘Two Brides,’ grabbed an award at the Cinestaan Storytellers Competition in 2018. Bada solid proof hai, boss!

Now, Biplab isn’t shying away from calling out these accusations for what they are—totally bogus! He insists that the theme of mistaken identity, like the classic ‘who’s who’ of veiled characters, is as ancient as Shakespeare and Tagore. Waise, purane zamaane ka formula toh hai, but with Biplab’s unique tadka of originality, he claims it’s as fresh as garam chai on a rainy day. ☔️🥤

What’s Cooking in Bollywood? 👀

The drama unfolded when our desi darling ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ India’s officially chosen one for the Oscars, suddenly found itself under the scanner. Social media sleuths went gaga over the eerie similarities between scenes from Biplab’s film and Fabrice Bracq’s 2019 creation, ‘Burqa City.’ The latter revolves around a newlywed man going bonkers trying to find his wife, who gets swapped with another lady in a similar burqa. Talk about double trouble, huh?

Meanwhile, Kiran Rao, the captain of this cinematic ship, has been silent as the night. Kya pata, she might just be whipping up a dhamakedaar response to blow everyone’s minds!

Kiran’s Gyan: 🤔

Bollywood ki duniya hai bhai, yahan toh sab chalta hai! But remember, while stories may look alike, it’s the andaaz that sets them apart. To all the aspiring writers out there, bas dil se likho aur plagiarism ke bhooton se door raho! After all, it’s not just about who tells the story, but how it’s told that makes all the difference. Toh, keep calm and write on!

Till next time, folks. Stay tuned with Khabree Kiran for all the latest Bollywood masala. Toodles! 🍿
