Legendary Film Producer Raaj Grover, Known for ‘Taaqat’ and ‘Thikana’, Bows Out at 87

🎬🍿💔 Greetings, Bollywood buffs! Your favorite tinsel town gossip-monger, Bollywood Newshound Nisha, is here to drop the hottest (and saddest) news of the day. Get your tissues ready, because this one’s a tear-jerker.

The legendary, evergreen film producer Raaj Grover recently bid adieu to this world at the ripened age of 87. 😢 But fear not, darlings, he didn’t suffer. Our dear Raaj left us peacefully from his home in Old Bridge, New Jersey, on the 4th of June while napping. Talk about exiting with grace!

Our beloved Raaj, who was known for his infectious laugh and larger-than-life personality, had shifted to the US of A a few years ago. But that didn’t stop him from making frequent trips back to the homeland to rub elbows with his pals from the film fraternity.

Remember that unforgettable line, "Grover never over"? Well, those words will forever echo in our hearts, keeping Raaj’s memory alive. 🌹

Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we? Raaj’s claim to fame includes the 1982 hit ‘Taaqat’, starring the suave Vinod Khanna and the enchanting Parveen Babi. Oh, and who could forget the 1987 film ‘Thikana’ with Anil Kapoor and Smita Patil? Raaj co-produced that gem with Paul Arora and V.B. Soni.

But his repertoire doesn’t end there. In 2003, he backed the psychological thriller ‘Arya’, and he also co-produced the 1976 classic ‘Nehle Peh Dehlaa’ featuring Sunil Dutt.

Not just a filmmaker, Raaj was also a storyteller. In 2018, he published a book, ‘The Legends Of Bollywood’, which gave us juicy inside stories of Bollywood bigwigs. From Amitabh Bachchan’s first film test to Dharmendra’s transition from a tractor driver to a mega-star, this book was a treasure trove of behind-the-scenes anecdotes.

Working at Mumbai’s Ajanta Arts (owned by Sunil Dutt), Raaj was always in the thick of the action. From weddings to funerals, secret love affairs to scandals, he saw it all and chronicled it in his book, complete with unseen photos and personal memories.

Nisha’s Nutshell:

The curtains may have closed for our beloved Raaj, but his legacy lives on in his films and stories. And remember, darlings, "Grover never over"! A fitting line for a man whose impact on Bollywood is far from over. 🌟🎥💔

Raaj Grover, you will be missed!
