M. M. Keeravani: ‘Wouldn’t it be nice if people had playlists of actual musicians, not just Shah Rukh or Salman?’ – Exclusive! | Hindi Movie News

Ladies and gentlemen, grab your popcorn and get cozy because Bollywood Newshound Nisha is back with another spicy update from B-town!

Remember M. M. Keeravani? Of course, you do! The man who made us all groove to ‘Naatu Naatu’ from S. S. Rajamouli’s RRR and walked away with an Oscar for Best Original Song last year. Well, he’s back in action, and this time, he’s teamed up with Neeraj Pandey for the upcoming film Auro Mein Kaha Dum Tha, starring none other than Ajay Devgn and Tabu. 🎉

In a candid chat with ETimes, our musical maestro spilled some beans about life post-Oscar and shared his thoughts on the ever-evolving music scene. When quizzed about how people’s perception of him has shifted since the big win, Keeravani candidly said, “People who knew me, the real me, their perception did not change. People who don’t know me properly, their perception has changed, because of the tag. You need a tag to introduce yourself to strangers.” Isn’t that just the story of our lives? We all need that glittering tag, don’t we? 🤷‍♀️

But wait, there’s more! The man who once said India lacks music stars (ouch!) now feels the winds of change. He believes the globalization wave is turning the tide. “It is changing because of globalization, if not today, tomorrow, it has to change and it’s a good sign. A true musician getting recognition for his own merit, is always welcome,” he remarked. Hallelujah! 🎶

Keeravani has a wishlist too, folks! He dreams of a world where people cherish playlists curated by lyricists, composers, and singers rather than obsessing over actor-centric playlists. “But we have a Shah Rukh Khan playlist, Salman Khan songs playlist, which is not healthy for the music industry at least. If I am a Shah Rukh Khan fan, there is nothing wrong with it, but I am not loving the music here. I am loving and admiring Shah Rukh Khan as a performer. So, whatever is associated with Shah Rukh Khan, I want to have that. I want to enjoy that. So, I cannot claim to be a music lover,” he added. Hmm, do we sense some playlist rebellion brewing? 😏

Nisha’s Nutshell:
In Bollywood, you either have a tag or you’re just another face in the crowd. And in the world of music, it seems we need to choose between being a true music lover or a star-struck fan. But hey, who said you can’t dance to both tunes?

Stay tuned for more juicy tidbits from Bollywood, only from your favorite Bollywood Newshound, Nisha! 🎬
