So, hereâs the scoop: The Maharashtra government seems to have goofed up big time while calculating the conversion fees for Mannat. The property, which Shah Rukh and his superstar wife Gauri Khan converted from lease to ownership in 2019, had a fee miscalculation. The government mistakenly charged them based on the value of the bungalow instead of the land it sits on. Result? A hefty âč27.50 crore was paid, out of which âč9 crore was extra. SRK, being the smart cookie he is, filed for a refund, and lo and behold, the government is now on the verge of issuing that refund.
Satish Bagal, the suburban deputy collector, mentioned that they are just waiting for the final nod from the babus in power before handing over the extra bucks. "Dekho bhai, mistake ho gayi," they seem to be saying, and itâs time to return the extra "dhan."
