Ranbir Kapoor’s "Animal" might have hit the jackpot at the box office last December, but arre baba, it sure stirred up a hornet’s nest! Critics and fans are still at it, debating the film’s portrayal of machismo and gore. Apna veteran filmmaker, and Ranbir’s sasur ji, Mahesh Bhatt, has shared his two paisa on this hoopla. 📽️
In an exclusive chat, Mahesh Bhatt was candid about the whole tamasha. "Entertainment is like a bloodsport, yaar. Tumne arena mein kadam rakha, toh expect karo ki kuch log tumhe cheer karenge, aur kuch log neechay girte dekhna pasand karenge," said Mahesh Bhatt. Arre waah, kya baat hai, sir!
He further added, "You chose this life, bhai. Performers are rare, while most are just spectators. Ye duniya creators ki hai, not those who throw brickbats from the sidelines. Performer banne ke liye guts chahiye, samjhe?" 👏
And the cherry on top? “These are occupational hazards. You can’t have it both ways. Stand in the sun, get sunburnt,” he said. Wah, kya philosophical baatein hain!
Films: Serious Business or Just Fun?
Mahesh Bhatt also gave his gyaan on why people take films itna seriously. He believes that the industry has always been a battlefield of opinions. Artists have to adapt, yaar. “Reality is harsh. Ab Dilli Dur Nahin: Mahesh Bhatt’s Pet Project
Mahesh Bhatt might have taken a backseat from directing after "Sadak 2", but bhai, he is still very much involved in the industry. He penned the thriller horror "Bloody Ishq" and creatively contributed to the social drama "Ab Dilli Dur Nahin", which is about a rickshaw puller’s son becoming an IAS officer. 👨🎓
He described the film as a tale of audacious dreams. “Dream big, yaar. Dreams are not just for the privileged. This story, originally a play I did, is about turning dreams into reality,” he shared. Arre waah, Mahesh ji, sapno ka sach karne wala formula de diya!
He praised the director Kamal Chandra for his efforts, saying, “This is an endeavour to bring such inspiring stories to the screen. Kamal has done a fab job. Yeh narrative logon ko inspire karega,” he concluded.
