Ladies and Gentlemen, grab your popcorn, because Bollywood Newshound Nisha is here to spill the tea! šæ
Trigger Warning: This article contains details about sexual abuse.
Oh, Praneeth Hanumanthu, what tangled webs you weave! Just when we thought the drama in Bollywood couldnāt get juicier, in comes this YouTuber and actor, stirring the pot and then some. Known for his quirky interviews and styling tips, Praneeth found himself in hot water after making some highly questionable comments about father-daughter relationships. Oh, honey, what were you thinking?
Alright, letās break it down. Praneeth Hanumanthu, the man of the hour for all the wrong reasons, is a YouTuber, actor, and celebrity interviewer. Raised by H. Arun Kumar, an esteemed IAS officer from Andhra Pradesh, Praneeth has always been in the limelight. With an elder brother, Ajay Hanumantu, also making waves as a YouTuber, it seems controversy runs in the family! Praneeth graduated from Symbiosis Law College, Pune, but clearly, he missed the class on "Think Before You Speak."
Known as āAye Judeā in the digital world, Praneeth has interviewed a slew of actors, from Nani to Karthikeya Gummakonda. His YouTube channel boasts 172K followers, and heās got 56.1K fans on Instagram. But not all followers are fans, especially after his latest fiasco.
In a video that nobody asked for, Praneeth thought it would be a brilliant idea to mock the sacred father-daughter bond. Unsurprisingly, the internet erupted. Public outrage was swift and severe, leading to an FIR being filed against him by the Telangana police. Praneeth did post an apology video, but letās be real, damage control was too little, too late.
This isnāt Praneethās first rodeo with controversy. Heās previously made offensive remarks about marginalized communities, including orphans and specially-abled individuals. Honestly, at this point, itās like heās actively trying to become the most disliked man on the internet.
When actor Sai Durga Tej caught wind of this, he was among the first to call for action against Praneeth. The heavyweights of the Telugu-speaking states, including Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, and the DGPs of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, also chimed in.
Sudheer Babu, who unfortunately cast Praneeth in his latest film, Harom Hara, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his regret:

He said, "For good or bad, Iām not a social media guy nor do I keep up with things. I feel so disgusted by the fact we had #PraneethHanumanthu cast in #HaromHara. Sincere apologies from me and my entire team. We didnāt know what a pathetic creature this man is. It wasnāt in my knowledge (sic)."
Karthikeya Gummakonda also had to step up and clarify his stance:

āI had to do the interview as one of the job responsibilities as a lead actor trying to make his film reach a wider audience but I had no intentions of encouraging such content. Sadly, I had to be part of it, and I feel bad for that. Hereon, I will be really careful with whom I give interviews to and letās all together not encourage such content.ā
In the wacky world of Bollywood, it seems like thereās no such thing as bad pressāunless youāre Praneeth Hanumanthu. The moral of the story? Sometimes, itās better to let your silence do the talking. Or in simpler terms, if you canāt say something nice, donāt say anything at all. Oh, and maybe think twice before hitting that āuploadā button. š
