The much-anticipated report from the Justice Hema Committee, which was set up in 2019 to investigate these issues, is finally here. And boy, does it spill the beans on harassment, exploitation, and sheer ill-treatment faced by women.

"It has come out in evidence that certain men in cinema, who are well-known and well-reputed for their ability as artist, director or whoever he be in the film industry have shocked certain women in cinema by sexual harassment and physical advances made by them towards them," the report says. Matlab, jitne bhi mahaan kalakaar hain, unka asli chehra saamne aa gaya! 😒

The media got its hands on the report under the RTI Act, five years after it was submitted to the government. Kaise-kaise raaz khul rahe hain! 😲

In a series of revelations that could make your blood boil, the report highlighted instances where female actors faced harassment, including drunk men knocking on their doors. Kya zamaana aa gaya hai, bhai! 😡

Many women were too scared to complain to the police, fearing backlash. The report even quoted, "Do not trust what you see; even salt looks like sugar." Sahi baat hai, dikhava aur asli chehra bohot alag hote hain!

The biggest issue? Sexual harassment, of course! "It is the worst evil which women in cinema face in the film industry," it says. And those women brave enough to speak out? They get blacklisted with code names, while the ones who "adjust" get all the roles. Kya yaar, puraan zamane ki kahani hai!

The panel was ‘shocked to hear the sexual harassment stories’ revealed by women in the Malayalam film industry. "The offer to act or for doing any other job in cinema comes to a woman coupled with demand for sexual favours," the report said. Matlab, kaam ke saath-saath kuch aur bhi chahiye? 😡

Women often have to be accompanied by their parents or close relatives for safety. And in hotels? Forget polite knocking; men bang on doors like they own the place! Sometimes, it feels like the door will collapse and they’ll just barge in. 😠

Even though many acts fall under the IPC and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, women prefer to stay silent. "An artist added that if they take up the matter before the court or the police, they will face worse consequences, including threat to life," the report said.

On the very next day of the complaint, there will be severe cyber attacks on social media. Matlab, yeh toh cyber goondagardi bhi hai! 😡

The report also claims that the Malayalam film industry is controlled by a "criminal gang" with a powerful nexus of producers, directors, actors, and controllers. The police should register FIRs against these crimes, but many are too scared to come forward.

Remember the 2017 actress assault case involving actor Dileep? This panel was formed after that to study sexual harassment and gender inequality in Malayalam cinema.

Kiran’s Gyan: "Bollywood ke mazeer se door mat jao, par yaad rakho, jo dikhta hai woh hota nahi hai. Har chehre ke peeche ek kahani hoti hai, aur har kahani mein kuch na kuch masala zaroor hota hai!" 😜
