Well, well, well, what do we have here? Our darling Smriti Irani, who once sent shockwaves through the political world by toppling Rahul Gandhi in 2019, has tasted defeat against Congress candidate Kishori Lal Sharma in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. The ex-starlet and Union Minister took to Instagram, in true millennial fashion, to accept her defeat and reminisce about her years of hard work in Amethi.
She wrote, “Such is life… A decade of my life going from one village to another, building lives, nurturing hope & aspirations, working on infrastructure – roads, naali, khadanja, bypass, medical college and more. To those who stood by me through loss and victory, I am forever grateful. To those celebrating today, congratulations. And to those asking, ‘How’s the josh?’ I say- it’s still high, Sir.” I mean, talk about grace in defeat!
Her post was met with a tsunami of support from both fans and her former colleagues in the entertainment industry. Mouni Roy, who starred alongside Smriti in the legendary daily soap “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”, commented, “Always with you ❤️”. How sweet, right?
Veteran actor Neena Gupta also showered her with support, writing, “Keep working hard that’s it.” Sonu Sood and Aashka Goradia didn’t hold back either, with Sood expressing his support with a heart emoji, and Goradia stating, “With you EVERYDAY! Nothing has and nothing will ever stop you from the good that you do! Full Power.”
Meanwhile, other celebrity faces like Kangana Ranaut, Hema Malini, Shatrughan Sinha, Arun Govil, Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, and Suresh Gopi emerged victorious in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, proving that the Bollywood-politics crossover is alive and well.
Moral of the story, darlings – in the world of Bollywood and politics, you win some, you lose some, but the show must go on! And remember, even in defeat, there’s no harm in being a little dramatic about it! After all, once a star, always a star!
