My Liver’s a Rockstar—Beer Doesn’t Stand a Chance!

In the glitzy world of Bollywood where stories are spun like cotton candy at a fair, Dharmendra’s tales of tippling are as legendary as the man himself. Known for his robust film career and equally robust liver, Dharam Paaji wasn’t just the quintessential hero but also the life of the party—literally! 😜

Dharmendra’s Beer Escapades on Sholay Sets

Picture this: the iconic sets of Sholay, where bullets were flying, but so were the beer bottles! Dharmendra, our charming Veeru, was up to some secret mischief. 🤫 While the camera was rolling, Dharmendra was busy rolling out bottles from Jim, the cameraman’s stash. Jim, poor soul, was clueless about his dwindling beer supply until one day, the penny dropped—or should I say, the bottle did! "Mera liver bohot strong hai," quipped Dharmendra, owning the title of Bollywood’s "Biggest Boozer" with pride and a twinkle in his eye. 🥂

Caught in the Act by Moushumi Chatterjee

Our hero’s love affair with beer didn’t go unnoticed on another occasion either. Dharmendra decided to spice things up by turning beer into, hold your breath, lassi! 😆 Enter Moushumi Chatterjee, his co-star, who caught him in the act. "Aye, Dharmendra, yeh kya peeta hai?" she exclaimed. The quick-thinking actor fibbed about sipping lassi, but Moushumi wasn’t buying it. She cheekily asked for a taste, leading to a laugh-out-loud moment. Beer se kuch nahi hota, right, Dharam Paaji? 🍻

However, all good things must come to an end. After a health scare in 2010, Dharmendra bid adieu to his beloved beer. His daughter, Esha Deol, confirmed that her father had given up drinking to focus on his health. Talk about turning over a new leaf, or maybe a new bottle cap! 😉

Kiran’s Gyan:

Bollywood and booze share a timeless saga, a tale as old as time. But as Dharmendra shows us, even the biggest party animal can hang up their drinking boots. So, next time you’re pondering over that extra drink, remember Dharmendra’s legendary liver and his wise words: "Mera liver bohot strong hai," but maybe your resolve should be stronger. Cheers to that! 🍻
