Oh, Bollywood drama! You can always count on it to deliver the juiciest bits of gossip and scandal. Hello, my dear readers! It’s your favorite Bollywood snoop, Nisha, back with another rollercoaster ride of a story! Hold on to your popcorn, because this one’s a doozy! 🍿
So, TV actress Dalljiet Kaur is back in the spotlight, and not for a new show, but for some serious courtroom drama. Recently, she filed a fraud complaint against her husband, Nikhil Patel, a Kenyan businessman. Amidst all the divorce hullabaloo, Dalljiet decided to give us a front-row seat to her life through her social media.
Picture this: A courtroom in Kenya, jam-packed with drama. Nikhil, cool as a cucumber, denies that Dalljiet is his legal wife. Hold up! If not a wife, then what, a mistress? Dalljiet was having none of it and took to social media to unleash her fury.
"To everyone curious, my first hearing happened today in Kenya. Nikhil’s lawyer spent the entire time trying to prove our marriage never happened!" she shared on her Instagram story. According to her, Indian police had assured her that traditions and eyewitnesses would be enough to put Nikhil behind bars. But, oh the family shame! They’re denying any marriage ever took place.
Here’s the kicker! Dalljiet also called out a Kenyan company Nikhil is associated with. "When you called your leaders for a cultural event, where were their wives? Or was I just a mistress you invited?" she questioned. Talk about throwing shade! 🌑
In another post, she lamented, "I can’t believe you’re denying our marriage. You should have told me this on Karva Chauth when I was fasting for you till 11:30 PM. I should’ve just eaten! Shame on you, Nikhil." Ouch, that Karva Chauth burn!
Just a little rewind for those who joined the drama late: Dalljiet was previously married to actor Shaleen Bhanot with whom she has a son, Jordan. That marriage ended in 2015. In 2023, she tied the knot with Nikhil Patel in a Hindu ceremony in India and moved to Kenya. Fast forward eight months and she’s back in India, slapping fraud and extra-marital affair charges on Nikhil. Well, if Bollywood movies have taught us anything, it’s that the plot always thickens.
The social media war raged on with Dalljiet throwing accusations left and right, and Nikhil threatening to throw her belongings out. He even claimed they never had a registered marriage. The drama reached its peak when Dalljiet lodged a complaint at Agripada Police Station on August 4th. Nikhil, not one to back down, filed a counter-complaint in Kenya, which was heard on August 22nd.
Nisha’s Nutshell
In the crazy, twisted world of Bollywood, remember: Always have a lawyer on speed dial and never skip a meal on Karva Chauth—you never know when you might need the strength for a courtroom battle! 😜
