No More Popcorn Gatherings, Ghost Town Meetups

Bobby Deol, Bollywood’s very own Deol junior, is known for his charming presence in action-packed thrillers. But there was a time when this handsome hunk faced a major ‘kaam ki kami’ (lack of work) in his career. Imagine a Bollywood star not getting calls from directors! Let’s dive into this ‘filmy kahani’ of ups and downs.

Bobby, the talented offspring of legendary Dharmendra and sibling to the unstoppable Sunny Deol, first graced the screen as a child artist in his papa’s movie, Dharam Veer. His official entry into Bollywood was marked by the film, Barsaat, in 1995, earning him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Remember his hits like Soldier, Bichhoo, Ajnabee, and Humraaz? Ah, those were the days! Lately, he’s been making waves with his performances in web series, showing us that he’s still got the mojo!

But, yaar, life isn’t always a Bollywood dance number. In an interview with Filmfare, Bobby candidly shared his struggles, drawing parallels between his life and his character in Netflix’s Class of ’83. Just like his character Vijay Singh Bobb, Bobby was grappling with uncontrollable situations in his personal life.

He confessed, "Main khud se naaraz ho gaya tha…" (I got angry with myself). There was a phase when work offers dried up, and Bobby found himself in a rut. Imagine a Bollywood star who once had directors lining up, now sitting at home, angry and frustrated. He admitted to neglecting his health and taking solace in drinks. But then, a realization dawned upon him — ‘Apne pairon par khada hona padega boss!’ (You have to stand on your own feet, boss!) So, he dusted himself off, got back in shape, and kept himself ready for when opportunity would knock again.

And let’s give a shout-out to Bobby’s rock, his wife Tanya, who stood by him through thick and thin. He describes her as the best thing that ever happened to him. On the career front, Bobby made his Tamil film debut with Suriya’s Kanguva and has Housefull 5 lined up. This man is truly a phoenix rising!

Kiran’s Gyan: In Bollywood, it’s not just about action and romance, but also about drama behind the scenes. Kabhi kabhi, even stars need to remind themselves, ‘Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost!’ (The film isn’t over, my friend!). So, keep that chin up, and remember, every setback is just a setup for a comeback! 🌟
