Mumbai – So, our very own Parvathy Thiruvothu, the Malayalam sensation, is all set to take on Bollywood ka damaka! Recently, she spilled some beans about her "Thangalaan" co-star, Vikram, and compared him to the late, great Irrfan Khan. Aur guess what? It’s not about their acting skills but their generosity! 🥳
You see, Parvathy, who debuted in Hindi cinema with the romcom “Qarib Qarib Singlle” alongside Irrfan, was at a press event for "Thangalaan". When asked about similarities between Irrfan and Vikram, she said, “It’s definitely the generosity I see in both of them. Irrfan used to help me out with things because Hindi is not my native language. He used to help me get into that space…”
Parvathy, darling, you’re making us emotional! 😢 She went on to say, “You are as good as the other person on set… I find that greatness comes from that saying about people who don’t remember what you might have said or given them. It’s about how you make them feel. That’s the similarity in Irrfan sir and Vikram.”
Well, well, well! Kya baat hai! Both these legends know how to make everyone feel special. Vikram, the man himself, turns out to be a kamarkattu (traditional South Indian candy) distributor on set. Imagine shooting in harsh conditions and suddenly getting a sweet treat from the leading man! Vikram bhai, aap toh chhupa Rustam nikle! 🍬
Parvathy reminisced, “He’d just be walking around, he’d shake hands and suddenly you have a toffee in your hand. He just brightens the mood for everybody… I miss getting all the toffees.” Vikram, dost, yeh kya baat hui! You’ve set the bar high for all actors out there!
On and off the screen, Vikram was a true leader. “Everybody’s like ‘Have you eaten or not?’ But genuinely. There’s a concern about how everyone is doing. Our shooting location was very difficult. It was one of the harshest locations. It was all real locations that they shot in. He had everyone’s back. In that sense, he was our Thangalaan. He was leading the pack,” Parvathy added.
Set in the 19th century, "Thangalaan" is a tale based on the real story of the Kolar Gold Fields and the British exploitation of it. A gripping plot, real locations, and a generous hero? Wah bhai wah!
The film, which released in the South on August 15, is gearing up for its North India release on August 30. Produced by Green Studio, "Thangalaan" also stars Malavika Mohanan and British actor Daniel Caltagirone. Blockbuster alert! 🚀
Kiran’s Gyan: Bollywood mein, generosity is the real hero. Whether it’s a toffee on set or a helping hand with Hindi dialogues, it’s these little things that make our stars truly shine. So, next time you watch a film, remember it’s not just about the dialogues or the drama, it’s about the heart behind the scenes! ❤️
