Hello, Bollywood buffs! Itâs your favorite Bollywood Newshound Nisha here, ready to spill the chai on the latest happenings in Tinseltown! Buckle up, because todayâs gossip train is stopping at the station of futuristic dystopia, star-studded casts, and some classic Bollywood fan drama. đŹ
So, the trailer for Nag Ashwinâs much-anticipated sci-fi thriller Kalki 2898 AD dropped on June 10. Naturally, the internet went into a frenzy. Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in leading roles? Yes, please! đ But hold on to your popcorn, folks, because reactions are as mixed as a Bollywood masala movie.
While some fans couldnât stop drooling over the action sequences and mind-blowing VFX, others had their magnifying glasses out, pointing out similarities with Dune: Part 2. Because, of course, we canât have nice things without a dose of skepticism. đ
One enthusiastic fan gushed, âWow⊠just wonderful⊠A blockbuster is loading âŠ. It will be very difficult for us to wait for it..â (Three claps emojis included for dramatic effect). Another Prabhas devotee chimed in with, âLooking good.âŠPrabhas the rebel Star đ.â Yet another cautiously optimistic viewer said, âBgm is good, vfx is top notch⊠but not sure about the content⊠hope it works out.â
But letâs not forget the cynics, one of whom quipped, âDune & Star Wars đ.â You know itâs serious when the laughing emojis come out. Someone even went as far as to salute Nag Ashwin for his vision, calling the film a âmasterpiece.â Well, thatâs one way to butter up the director! đż
Kamal Haasan makes a blink-and-youâll-miss-it appearance in the trailer, but trust Bollywood fans to spot it faster than a flash sale on designer sarees. One user shared a clip of Kamalâs menacing look, dubbing him the "Ulaganayagan" and setting the comment section on fire. đ„đ„
But, of course, not everyone is sold. Another user tweeted, â#kalki2898ad â trailer was fab đ Cinematography, sound design, world setup was v good but casting looks so odd especially disha patani and VFX was poor at some points and Hindi dubbing is đđ.â Ouch, talk about a backhanded compliment!
The movie, set in a dystopian Kashi where survival is as tough as finding parking in Mumbai, introduces an incarnation awaited by both citizens and scientists. Amidst all this chaos, Ashwathama from the Mahabharata pops up after decades of playing hide and seek. Deepika makes her Telugu debut, and Disha Patani also stars, presumably kicking some serious butt.
Mark your calendars, because Kalki 2898 AD hits theaters on June 27. Will it be a blockbuster or a bust? Only time will tell, but one thingâs for sureâBollywood fans will have plenty to say about it.
In Bollywood, the only thing more dystopian than a futuristic thriller is the comment section under its trailer. Remember, folks, in the world of glitz and glamour, skepticism is the true star! đ
