Another day, another Bollywood scoop! This time, it’s all about our beloved Deepika Padukone and the emotional roller-coaster she’s been on.
Well, well, well, look who decided to stir the emotional cauldron of Bollywood this week! The ever-radiant mommy-to-be, Deepika Padukone, decided to swap her glamorous outings for a heartfelt visit. On Thursday night, after a cozy rendezvous with her mom, Ujjala Padukone, Deepika made a beeline for the home of our choreo-queen, Farah Khan.
Now, why the sudden detour? Farah recently lost her mother, Menka Irani, and Deepika, being the emotional juggernaut she is, went to pay her respects. Deepika was spotted by our ever-vigilant paparazzi (seriously, do they sleep?) as she arrived in her swanky car, looking every bit the concerned friend.
Menka Irani, who passed away on July 26, 2024, was no stranger to the film industry. Born on July 12, 1945, she was the sister of Honey Irani and the actress Daisy Irani. Her claim to fame began in the 1963 film Bachpan, where she performed alongside her sister. Later, she married stuntman and director Kamran Khan, and together they had two kids: the ever-entertaining Farah and the sometimes-controversial Sajid Khan.
Menka’s life wasn’t all glitz and glam. Farah has openly shared tales of financial struggle after Kamran’s demise due to alcoholism. But despite the hardships, Menka remained the rock-solid support for her family. She was also the cherished maternal aunt to Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar, maintaining a close bond with them.
Her passing leaves behind a legacy that includes her children, son-in-law Shirish Kunder, and her adorable grandkids, Czar, Anya, and Diva Kunder. It’s a significant loss that has left the Bollywood fraternity a little less bright.
