Vashu Bhagnani & Jackky Bhagnani vs. Ali Abbas Zafar: A Bollywood Saga!
Toh kya hua bhai? Well, let me tell you the juicy bit. Our very own Vashu Bhagnani and his laadla beta Jackky, who run Pooja Entertainment, have filed a complaint against director Ali Abbas Zafar. They’re accusing him of siphoning off subsidy funds from Abu Dhabi during the shoot of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Yeah, you heard it right! Drama level: 100! 🎬
Vashu Bhagnani along with son Jackky Bhagnani have filed a complaint against Bade Miyan Chote Miyan director Ali Abbas Zafar.
Acha, Complaint Ka Kya Scene Hai?
On September 2, 2024, the Bhagnanis marched into Bandra Police Station and dropped a bombshell of a complaint. Ali Abbas Zafar, along with his pals Himanshu Mehra and Ekesh Ranadive, are being accused of everything from fraud and cheating to misappropriation of funds and criminal conspiracy. Basically, it’s like they’ve been handed the entire Bollywood villain starter pack!
The Bhagnanis allege that these guys inflated the film’s budget, pocketed kickbacks, and cooked up fake invoices. Aur toh aur, they even used a shell company in Abu Dhabi to siphon off funds. Wah bhai, yeh toh full-on jhol hai!
Aur Details Suno
As if that wasn’t enough, Zafar claims the Bhagnanis didn’t pay him his ₹7.30 crores fee for directing the film. Meanwhile, back in June, crew members were accusing Pooja Entertainment of not paying their dues on time. Ruchita Kamble even went on Instagram to warn others about working with them.
https://www.instagram.com/reel/(correct_identifier)/Then there’s FWICE president BN Tiwari, who said that Vashu Bhagnani owes over ₹65 lakh to crew members from three films—Mission Raniganj, Ganapath, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Seriously, paisa hi paisa hoga but only on paper, it seems!
In an official statement, Jackky mentioned that Akshay Kumar, who stars in the film, has asked for his payments to be put on hold until the entire cast and crew get their dues. Talk about bhaichara!
Box Office Pe Laga Tala
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was a mega flop, earning just ₹59.17 crores against a whopping budget of ₹350 crore. Imagine the khatta taste when the film, also starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Alaya F, and Manushi Chillar, got slammed by critics. Paisa gaya, review bhi gaya!
Kiran’s Gyan
So, pyaare Bollywood ke diwanon, yahaan ek lesson hai sabke liye: Paise ka khel Bollywood mein bhi dangerous hai, bhai!
Paisa bolta hai, but agar galat jagah invest ho jaye toh bas bolta hi reh jata hai!
