Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal Pay Respects at Ayan Mukerji’s Dad’s Prayer Meet. Deets Inside! | Bollywood

So, Bollywood ka drama never stops, does it? Even in moments of grief, the show must go on, darling! But let’s get real for a moment here. The tinsel town recently gathered to pay their respects to veteran actor Deb Mukherjee, the father of filmmaker Ayan Mukerji. Of course, the stars descended like it’s a red carpet event, because why not?

The Bollywood Brigade at the Prayer Meet

When Bollywood’s who’s who makes an appearance, you know it’s a big deal. Ranbir Kapoor, our very own chocolate boy, was seen making a swift exit from his car, politely asking the ‘paparazzi bhai log’ to make way so he could shut his window. Bhai, even in mourning, style toh banta hai! 😎

Then there’s Vicky Kaushal, looking effortlessly cool in his casual shirt and denim. Folding his hands and greeting the shutterbugs, he seemed to handle the spotlight with the grace of a true gentleman. Aditya Roy Kapur, maintaining the somber dress code in white and blue, nodded curtly before making his way inside.

Ayan, on the other hand, was visibly downcast but still managed to throw in a ‘namaste’ to the cameras, thanking them for their well-wishes. The poor guy, holding up amid the chaos of flashing lights and whispered condolences.

And the list goes on! Sham Kaushal, Kunal Kapoor, Imtiaz Ali, Babita Kapoor, Anupam Kher, and more were there to lend their support. I mean, it was practically a Bollywood convention, minus the song and dance.

Deb Mukherjee: The Final Goodbye

The late Deb Mukherjee, who passed away on March 14 at the age of 83 after battling a long illness, left a void in the hearts of many. Known not just for his acting prowess but also as a key figure in the North Bombay Durga Puja, he was a beloved figure. His last rites were conducted at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu, and his absence was palpably felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Kajol, Ayan’s cousin and Bollywood royalty in her own right, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram. She posted a heartfelt picture from one of their famed Durga Puja celebrations, expressing the difficulty of imagining life without him. "To one of the finest men I’ve ever known. Rest in peace. You will be loved, remembered, and missed every day of my life," she wrote, adding a touch of personal loss to the public farewell.
