Rhea Chakraborty gets a VIP invitation from Delhi’s finest over her alleged starring role in a blockbuster Rs 500 crore app scam: Report

Oh, the tangled web we weave in Bollywood! Today, we’re diving into a drama that’s got more twists than a Karan Johar movie. Grab your popcorn, darlings, because this one is juicy!

Rhea Chakraborty, the actress who seems to attract headlines like bees to honey, is back in the spotlight. 🎥 But this time, it’s not for her acting chops or podcasts. Nope, she’s been called in by the Delhi Police. Why, you ask? Oh, just a tiny matter of a Rs 500 crore scam. Yes, you heard that right, crores, darling! Apparently, our beloved celebrities with their massive social media clout were busy promoting an app that turned out to be a little less ‘investment opportunity’ and a little more ‘scam central’. 🤑

Now, if you’re thinking, "Wasn’t she in that film Mere Dad Ki Maruti?" — you’re spot on. But Rhea’s latest gig seems to be more of a thriller than her previous roles. Alongside her, the police have also had a tête-à-tête with funnyman Bharti Singh and YouTuber Elvish Yadav regarding their links to the infamous HiBox app. And what do we have here? A crowd of 30,000 people duped by promises of daily returns that could make the stock market blush! 📈

The HiBox app, which sounded too good to be true, claimed it would serve up returns of one to five percent daily. Imagine that! Sadly, from July onwards, the only thing it returned was excuses — technical glitches, legal hiccups, you name it. Oh, the drama! 🎭

Turns out, other big names like Saurav Joshi, Abhishek Malhan, Purav Jha, and a host of influencers were also caught in this web. And the mastermind? A Chennai resident named Sivaram, who now has a lovely Rs 18 crore hole in his bank accounts, thanks to law enforcement. 🚔

Nisha’s Nutshell: Never trust an app that promises returns higher than your neighborhood moneylender. And remember, even in Bollywood, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is! 🤷‍♀️
