Rishi Kapoor blew a gasket when Ranbir ignored his advice about a movie, spills Ananth Mahadevan; ‘Typical Rishi move…’

Ah, Bollywood! The land where every star’s sneeze is headline material and every whispered word becomes a symphony of opinions. In this glitzy world, only a few souls dare to speak their minds, undeterred by the consequences. Enter the late Rishi Kapoor, a legendary figure who was as candid as they come. Recently, Ananth Mahadevan spilled some beans on the beloved actor’s no-holds-barred nature and an interesting run-in involving his son, Ranbir Kapoor.

Picture this: Ananth Mahadevan, the actor-filmmaker, cozies up with Siddharth Kannan for a chat, and out comes a treasure trove of anecdotes about Rishi Kapoor. Mahadevan, who shared screen space with Kapoor in the 1989 blockbuster "Chandni," couldn’t help but admire the actor’s unfiltered honesty. According to Mahadevan, Rishi was the kind of guy who would tell you straight up if your film was destined for the dustbin. 💥

One particular tale takes us to the Kapoor household, where Rishi was fuming like a pressure cooker ready to whistle. Why, you ask? Well, it seems Ranbir Kapoor, the apple of his eye, went rogue and signed up for a film Rishi had vehemently advised against. "I won’t name the film or the filmmaker," Mahadevan confided, "but Rishi was livid. He kept saying, ‘I tried to warn Ranbir. I told him not to do it, that the film wouldn’t succeed. But did he listen? Nope!’"

Rishi Kapoor, never one to sugar-coat his opinions, was known to tell directors to their faces if their projects were a flop. His honesty was legendary, even if it ruffled a few feathers along the way. "He’d say, ‘It’s a flop, yaar. There’s no point, don’t do it,’" Mahadevan recalled with a chuckle.

For those living under a rock, Rishi Kapoor made his grand debut in 1973 with "Bobby," starring alongside Dimple Kapadia. Over the years, he charmed us with performances in iconic films like "Amar Akbar Anthony," "Sargam," "Naseeb," "Prem Rog," "Chandni," "Henna," "Deewana," "Namastey London," and "Love Aaj Kal." Sadly, the charismatic actor bid us farewell on April 30, 2020, after a long battle with illness. 🌟

Nisha’s Nutshell: In the world of Bollywood, honesty is not always the best policy, unless you’re Rishi Kapoor, in which case it’s the only policy. And remember, in this industry, when a Kapoor says "flop," it might just be wise to listen. 🎬😉
